Timeshift is not stored by default on that location

Perhaps he used the autorestore after upgrading to 6.1? That will explain the timeshift path.

My recording path's are restored by using autobackup.

Auto timeshift? as in "permanent timeshift"? Which is a plugin, not part of the standard image, afaik?

Automatic timeshift start is built-in e2. So no extra plugin is needed.

Ah, ok. Never to old to learn. ;)

Never used it. Where do you activate it, and I can't quickly find it. And I sure hope it is not active by default?

And it looks indeed like timeshift_path is handled differently, it doesn't support "<default>" like the other recording paths, and the default is /media/hdd.

Found it. Under "user interface". How logical. ;)

It works here on my et8500. Just tested with the latest 6.1 release. Timeshift starts automatically after boot from deep standby on the first watched channel and all others afterwards.

Do you mean start from deep standby or from standby? Or do you mean after “init 4” “init 3” calls?

And where does it record? As I understand, the default is hardcoded to /media/hdd, which is an issue if you don't have one. All other recording locations automatically select a location.

Yes, I used a usb stick and had to adapt the path.

But as far as I understood the posts timeshift generally works for him, but only not after boot until he switched the channel.

Indeed, reading back that seems to be the original question. I was thrown off it by littlesats first answer. ;)

What we probably need to know is whether this is after swichting on from deep standby (i.e. off), or from standby?

Hi

I have Vu+ ultimo ( not 4k ) and my image is open pli 6.1

I followed all the steps.
I set the correct order on the hard disk
I do not use the default.
In either case, when the receiver is booted, it requires from Standby or Silence once to change the service to be activated
When I turn off all advanced settings and use another installed plugin, I have less problems

best regards

What do you mean by "another installed plugin"? Which plugin? And which plugin have you installed now?

Do not install any plugin, permanent timeshift is built into OpenPLi, plugins will interfere with it, replace code, and generally break things.

“In either case, when the receiver is booted, it requires from Standby or Silence once to change the service to be activated”

Again do you use deep standby or standby?
It might be a driver issue as it works on a et8500. But as said I tested with booting from deep standby.
