Technically: yes.

But recording a stream opens a second stream, and the server providing the stream might not allow that.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Yes, and?

Your PC is not your box, and the software on the PC is different from the software on the box.

Start a playback of the stream on your PC, then start your software again, and start a second playback of that stream. Does it still work?

I can record and playback free to air channels no problem. Are they supposed to be stored in a certain folder on the memory stick?

Ah, I tought the question was that you wanted to record on the box.

If you have a media file (source doesn't matter) that doesn't play on the box, the box simply doesn't support the format. Remember, it is an STB, not a media player.

As said, it is not the container that counts, it is what is inside it.

If for example it's H.265/HVEC, and you don't have a recent box that supports it, it doesn't play. If it is UHD, and you don't have a 4K box, it doesn't play. And so on...

That's why it would be nice if OpenPLi can handle this particular case with an option in the setup that will switch the box to a pre-defined real DVB channel when a recording is started on an IPTV channel, instead of starting 2 streams.

If you are watching what you are recording on an IPTV the solution is to start a timeshift then let it playback and save the timeshift once the program is finished.

Or schedule a recording with the box in standby on the IPTV channel.

Read what WanWizard wrote! What box do you use?

Then use e.g. mediainfo to look into the .ts to know what codec is used. If e.g. h265 is used and your box don't support h265 then it's normal that you cannot play back it on your box...

Hi!

You can try some public feed from Estonia. (I don't know, if they work abroad). You can record the feed, or put timer to recording.

And yes, you need some latest gstreamer.

Please delete my previous post after a few days away. There's nothing illegal, but it does not have to remain here. Just the iptv also works in such a way, and very very well.  :)

Yes it is working because they don't have limitation on the number of concurrent access that you performed on those servers.

But some IPTVs are only allowing one and only one access to there servers at the same time so in this case you cannot record them.
