Hello, I don't really like the "Standby / restart" naming for the menu. In my opinion, it would be a lot better to rename it to "Power" (this is used in the latest Windows OS), or "Power control" (this is used in the openwebif plugin), or even "Power options".
Perhaps we can also consider renaming the "Restart" option inside the menu to something like "Reboot" or "Reboot box" to better differentiate it from the "Restart enigma" and "Restart enigma in debug mode" options.

"Restart" is more clear to non-technical people than "Reboot". "box" is also not very clear for those users. Then again, those users are also clueless to what an "enigma" is, so I agree something needs to be done (not only in that menu).

Well, we can rename the "Restart enigma" options to "Restart gui" or "Restart GUI" or "Restart user interface". The 1st option is used in the openwebif as well.
What is your though about the title of the "Standby / restart" menu? Would it be a good idea to rename to "Power" or something?

And do you think, that GUI or User interface will be for BFU better ? They know maximaly, that they have box with enigma2... but with GUI ?

I think you underestimate what users know. "GUI" is a very common abbreviation and "user interface" is self explanatory. But anyway...
The main reason I made this thread was to rename the "Restart / standby" title in the main menu... and none of you have made a comment on this!!!

But I don't see the problem with "restart / standby"
People are used to set there TV set into "standby" so they understand it very well, a reboot is also clear since they need to reboot there PC after an online update.
Power doesn't means anything better this just induce confusion, which kind of Power? Can I boost the Power of my CPU with this menu? Power on its own is not self-explanatory.

Openpli is more than just the user interface and/or enigma2
It doesn't have to be technically accurate, it has to be understandable for end-users. Big difference.
As I always say: if my mum and dad don't understand it, it's wrong.

If I had to change menu entries, I would do as follows:
Sleep Timer
Simple Standby
Full Restart
Simple Restart
Full Standby
...and I'd sort them ….. the most used to the less used.

I hardly ever come in that menu, if I do, it is either to restart enigma, or the entire box, Never use any of the other options.

Deep standby is Deep standby and not Simple standby. I do not know any "simple" restarts, btw.

Deep standby isn't standby at all, it's "off" (for all intents and purposes) for most users. So "Switch receiver off" would be better.

And then rename all help texts etc from "deep standby" to some others in all plugins, e2 etc , etc... "Regard deep standby as stanby" will be ? :-)
