I'll see if I can bump the version for the next build round. Any specific reason why you want this? What has been fixed or improved?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

This Oscam version 11.434 now opens PowerVU channels AFN 9°E by implementing hash mode 15 and 16

  • OSCam svn11.434 Emu -r772 -
  • - Add PowerVu hash mode 15 and 16

PowerVu channesl always changes keys every some hours ..

So should be to stop on some PowerVu channels and keep it until Oscam or Ncam bring and update new keys

You have to use cacheex for afn to work.

Solution is to create a 2nd emu reader and enable cacheex for it.

In oscam.server put

[reader]
label                         = afn
protocol                      = emu
device                        = emulator
services                      = afn
cacheex                       = 1
caid                          = 0E00
detect                        = cd
ident                         = 0E00:000000
group                         = 1
emmcache                      = 2,1,2,1
dropbadcws                    = 1
emu_auproviders               = 0E00:000000

and in oscam.services put

[afn]
caid                          = 0E00
provid                        = 000000
srvid                         = 0066,0067,0068,0069,006A,006B,006C,006D

Unfortunately the cacheex is not compatible with all other services, so we have to use a 2nd emu reader and restrict it to these 8 services...

Drawback is that oscam-emu sometimes doesn't start after a receiver restart (probably something to do with the common key database the emu creates that is shared among all emu readers) and also some other powervu services with the same sid as those of afn don't open anymore (because the afn reader with the cacheex is used for them as well).

Yes, I had to remove the second emu reader because of permanent issues.

There seem to be a problem at the moment and channels using hash mode 18 don't clear.

It looks like now only one EMU reader is required even for AFN channels.

I understand cacheex is to be set to OFF for that "universal" reader?

Depending on the box, it can all work now with OSCam Emu. Zgemma H7 is fine, for instance...

OK, this is working for a while now, in Zgemma H7 fully and in H9x/H9.2x it's partial (no 4.8E), as I already pointed out.

Here is the config file I posted elsewhere, the client side of things only, presuming one uses OSCam Emu (not the latest one as it may play havoc with memory, apparently), with the valid set of keys, of course...

Why not taken then from our feeds... pre-compiled oscams from other sides I cannot guarenteed that there might be surprises included...

Open source code never guarantees the security of its use.

OpenPLi also can not guarantee that Softcam will not contain exploits from its own feed.

Most plugins in any Enigma come from a third party! So not only the "binary" file can "steal data" from the set top box or from the Enigma, but also the plugins (human readable Python code). A feed server from an open source project can always contain dangerous and erroneous data.

The above websites are reliable sources. They are websites with a long history and good reputation.

If someone can not verify that Softcam is doing malicious activity on the set top box (open network ports, for example) then it should not install any Softcam. Installing, configuring and using Softcam requires a higher level of knowledge (ideally as a unix / linux system administrator or as a system programmer). Many users are already experienced and can report any malicious activity in Softcam.

Of course, I recognize that the best way is to use the support (feed) of a particular project - that is, if the OpenPLi feed contains Softcam, then I do not see the problem:

opkg update && opkg list | grep oscam
