Fehlende Buttonbeschriftung

Didi1's Photo Didi1 4 Feb 2019

(Sorry for the english but my german is very rusty). @littlesat : I too have a skin, which I modified in the past because I own a 21:9 screen, and I have lost the button texts. I also tried to copy the main button templates from the standard skin, but still no text. Is there any way to change my skin to make them compliant to the new way of text rendering ? Re-doing the skin completely is a lot of work so I'd rather avoid that ;) I'm running OpelPLi 7 btw.

Oh no, since i mostly watch movies, 21:9 is great. And yes, that's why I had to create an own skin so when watching normal TV OSD does not fall outside the screen. So is there any information on how the new button text assignment in skins works ?

@littlesat: To clarify, I have a altered skin and all buttons are repositioned so they are in view. The problem is that the descriptive texts (context dependent) are missing. So f.i. in the Channel EPG screen, I see the buttons, but the texts 'Single EPG' and 'Multi EPG' are missing, it's just the buttons. I had a look at the button templates, and I did copy them over from the standard skin that came with OpenPLi 7 but still those texts are missing. I must be missing something because I cannot find any of these texts in the skins so they must be assigned dynamically from the enigma code. I had this same skin on OpenPLi 4 and there all was fine. Since I copied it to the new OpenPLi 7 box the texts disappeared.

And when you choose for movies to display without letterbox... at least for the mkvs
How you should do the buttons all is in the skin_templates.xml
The you have one button template for all screens... instead of all these separate rgyb ‘sub’ templates...
Some widgets on some screens (those where you now see the anomalies) we’re adjusted to this auto button show/disappear/one template feature. So one you adapted the template you can start to replace the sub templates in the rest of your skin xmls.

A more easy thing you can consider is use the basic skin and adjust the osd position via the overscan wizard. Then you do not need to adapt a skin.

Ah, I see now. Instead of having all permutations of derived color button templates (ButtonTemplate_R, ButtonTemplate_RG, etc.) which used the main button templates there is now only one button template with conditional rendering directives (which makes sense) .... Hmm, seems I now have to decide to either start over with a new standard skin of make heavy modifications to the old skin ..... But thanks, this pointed me into the right direction ;)

I would go for the template... and the replace all the rgyb things by the new template(s)... for these feature we also had to make changes on some python code to get the auto job done. In those you now have issues...

Yeah, I will do that. The overscan trick is a good one, but will leave me with gaps when switching zoom modes. I now have everything aligned to 1920x1080 but moved all necessary items (texts, buttons etc.) down and up so they are visbile when zoomed. This gives a cleaner look overall.

Thanks again for your pointers, this helps a lot ...

And post the results here... maybe we can consider to add this as 219 skin ;)

Sure, no problem! I will have to make an updated version as I also have some information from my domotica system hacked in there, but this is not a problem. Once I have everything working again I will make a clean version ;)

If I knew how to insert texts in a skin I would change it in Skin.xml.
But I need a template where the position of the text can be changed. The text does not have to be in the button.

Translated with Google :-)
