I don’t know by heart which button is assigned to that function.
With hotkey you can assign any available key to that function.

I'm using the Ultimo4K, but it should be the same.

AFAIK you could manually add this service to any of your bouquets:

#SERVICE 8192:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0::HDMI-IN

Then you can select the HDMI-IN as any other channel.

I have vuuno4kse and chromecast connected in HDMI-in, and OpenPli 7.2 rc 20190929. I tried both service and hotkey, but i get only black picture. With VIX both work. Any hints for OpenPli?

HDMI-in only works in 720p, and for devices that are not HDCP protected.

I don't have a chomecast, so I don't know if it complies. I guess it should, otherwise it wouldn't work in VIX. Afaik we have the same drivers as in VIX (but you can check, the driver version is in the info screen).

Is this something vu need to add in their bsp, but they never can do because it is illegal?

I don't think it is illegal.

What that binary patch does is disable the 720p restriction on HDMI in, and that might be in violation with contracts they have with Broadcom, the restriction is there, like HDCP protection, to prevent HD digital copies of copyrighted media.

We con't have that contract, so I've added the patch to our develop build for testing yesterday. I can say it works on the Duo 4K, but recording is still a problem that needs to be looked at, it records at 2160p30 while the input was 1080i50, so the recording was unusable.

I don't have the knowledge to say whether that is a driver issue, or a problem in our HDMI-in recording code, someone with with C skills need to look at that.

As in the other thread: Recording of HDMI IN using OE-A images does not work on Vu Duo 4K, it works on GI LX3, ET 10K, Miracle box Ultra, and pretty sure HD 2400. So IMO, driver issue unless another patch is required.

Sent from my Moto G (5S) using Forum Fiend v1.3.3.

Wouldn't suprise me, given the state of the Duo 4K drivers...

With OpenPLi the same issues. HDMI-in just doesn't work correctly on the Duo4k.

Tested OpenPli 7.2-rc 2019-10-11 in vuuno4kse and now HDMI-in works.

Thank you very much!

You're welcome.

Can you check if recording from HDMI-in works (just press ther recording button to make an instant recording) too?

Posi's Photo Posi 12 Oct 2019

Yes. It records but video is not playable (as with other images, too). I use 1080p video resolution.

Thanks, that was what I wanted to know, so it seems all VU+ boxes have the same driver issues... We might have to do some kickin' upstream... ;)
