Why is it not possible to have the recorded video in the passive window when using PIP?
Why not possible to have files from PVR in "passive" window/PIP?

I don't think that the goal is to perform the action you mention in the PiP windows, those action should only be performed on the main screen.
But would be nice if we can play records in PiP just for being able to toggle main screen and PiP windows.

mmmm... when you have a recording in PIP... you do not want to stepskip within the recording when pipzap is enabled? Just start from the beginning that is it??? Then it really does not have any added value I think.

By default clearly no, I start the playback on the main screen then I can select a channel for the PiP windows and then being able to toggle between both.
If I want to skip/fast fwd in the playback I set it back in the main screen with the TV channel in PiP.
No later on we can image to have the same option as for TV where you can zap in the PiP windows, but this need to be first selected by pressing BLUE + RED (zap focus on PiP).
But this can be implemented later.
It is a bit sad to prevent playback in PiP just because control keys cannot manage it when it is in PiP.
