1)When  receiver is loaded, use ofgwrite.

2)When the inscription appears on the display, the image is found, slightly remove and insert the flash drive back.

I have limited remote account to box. Tried ofgwrite (from duo4k) with -r -k:

Using /dev/mcblk0p1 as kernel device

rootfs (dev/mmcblk0) is on different device than current rootfs(). Maybe wrong device selected. -> Aborting

What is the output of?

cat /proc/cmdline

This should include this:

root=/dev/mmcblk0p4

If

root=/dev/mmcblk0p4

is missing, the user has most likely flashed a wrong kernel.

cmdline should look like this:

https://github.com/v..._defconfig#L533

If it is present in cmdline, what does "mount" show? And also please post dmesg output.

I will know it tomorrow - it's not my box, never saw this box. I can try it remotely only (from my PC with way: TV<->TV<->telnet).

I must run ofgwrite from usb, because on box it is missing.

cat /proc/cmdline is empty line.

Weird:

# cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.14.28-1.10 (gdhan@Notebook) (gcc version 4.8.4 20141110 (prerelease) (Broadcom stbgcc-4.8-1.2) ) #4 SMP

From your PM I see:

Found mountpoint for rootfs file: /mnt/usb/sda1

The empty cmdline is also not ok and not normal.

Both imply that some kind of multiboot mechanism was installed by the user. I heard that that was available for solo4k, but I never used or really saw it.

If the user has detached the USB stick / HDD(/mnt/usb/sda1), he should attach it again. If root is still present on that stick/hdd, box should work properly again.

If that's not possible, please post output of "mount". Is the /dev/mmcblk0p4 used for rootfs?

Please don't do it yet. My idea would be to flash a proper kernel (from OpenPLi). The kernel will use /dev/mmcblk0p4 as rootfs. It works if really a rootfs is available on /dev/mmcblk0p4. If not, we might have a bigger problem than before. So better wait and think twice before bricking the box.

But maybe with proper kernel, USB flashing works again....

Just unplug all flash drives / disks and the receiver will boot from flash memory, then set the image in a standard way.

I think it’s not OpenMultiboot as that uses normal kernels. Here a custom kernel is used as far as I can see.
