Hi,

I have created the channels and sources files based on the services I get in my DM900 but some people say it does not work on theirs boxes.

I now found that it depends if your box has original separate dvb-c tuner or a triple tuner that is simulating scan of cable using a sat definition.

example:

on my box a scan produces this SID - 1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:FFFF0000:0:0:0:

on a box with simulation scan via satellite.xml and using the position value of "-1" the SID - 1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:E0F00000:0:0:0:

my question is how to make the channels.xml without the position part of the SID.

Thanks

This is not possible.  The position in the channels ref is really needed, because there are channels on different satellites and even cable systems which use the same NID, TID and SID.

However the problem you describe is caused by the different sattellites.xml or cables.xml which are produced by some cleaver clogs, who think they can do better.

Solutions:

1.  Correct the cables.xml or satellites.xml for the correct positon value, and rescan.

or

2.  Duplicate the values with the second option.

so both add:

1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:FFFF0000:0:0:0:

and

1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:E0F00000:0:0:0:

to the channels.xml file of EPGimport.

This does not hurt the epgimport, because epgimport inports only EPG for channels it recognizes by default.

On one receiver, the 1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:E0F00000:0:0:0: will be ignored, On the other 1:0:19:3A3:22:DE:FFFF0000:0:0:0: will be ignored automatically.

I tried to duplicate the values as you suggested but the epgimport run log reports the channels as "Unknown channel:" on all of them and does process the second value.

That is normal. This is the indication it is skipping these on your receiver. On the other receiver it will skipping the other entries.

Thank you for this. It seems this is the only solution. I am not very happy with it because I need to maintain 2 lists.

I am not happy with it either, having the same problem with the sat Thor.

Some denote it 0.8W others use 0.9W which result in different Namespace values.

E080000

E070000

and even

E060000
