Hello,

I hope somebody can help me!

As I write in title:

My Zgemma H7S crashes (now ca. 3 times since November) and paralize the complete home-Network included WiFi.

After that I can't connect equipment in my complete network neither by wifi nor by cable.

The box is frozen, I can't use it. When I pull the mains plug and after starting proces of the H7S, in Network is everything o.k.

Software is OpenPLi 7.2, box ist 24h/day in standby

Network has static IP.

Router is Fritzbox 7490.

Synology NAS is mounted per NFS (erverything is o.k.)

No crashlog on the usb-stick

Installed Extensions are: autotimer, epgrefresh, epgsearch, backupsuite, serienrecorder, github plugin updater (for serienrecorder) and dreamexplorer.

The hardware has already been replaced once (after the second crash in january)

Time between crashes ~ 6-8 weeks.

Do somebody know, what I can do?

Thanks for support :)

What means paralyze the whole network??
The box is in standby the whole time? So you don’t turn it off? If yes, restart the box every 2-3 weeks.

Maybe fixed IP address in box instead of dns? While in the network another device get the same ip....’badly configured router?

Paralyze means, that I have (while the box is crashed) no connections between all devices in my home-network.

I can't reach any box (HD2400, vusolo2, vuduo2, DS 218) an I have no connection to internet (from PC).

When I restart the H7S all connections are o.k. and internet access ist o.k. too.

@betacentauri

How can I restart the box every 2 weeks automatically?

@littlesat

I don't think it is the fix IP.

Since years, I have this IP xxx.xxx.xxx.5 in bedroom.

Three TVs, the Synology NAS and four Enigma boxe have a fix IP (from xxx.xxx.xxx.1 to xxx.xxx.xxx.10) all other devices are in dhcp from xxx.xxx.xxx.50 to xxx.xxx.xxx.150.

Thanks for help

Smells like another fritzbox issue...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I think too it's the router, because when it crashes there is no WLAN.

The three other boxer are in deep standby- that is no problem.

This seems to be a router problem. Try updating the firmware in your router, but it probably won't help.

FritzBox are bullshit. Buy high quality branded WIFI Router (for example: TP-Link, Asus, Mikrotik) at around 100-150 EUR and you will have no problem in your home LAN. Of course, some FritzBoxes are difficult to replace if they are designed for a special type of connection. However, if it is a common WiFi router, you can surely replace it with any other (better) one.

Or try swapping or lending another router temporarily from someone - just to test it for 2-3 months for example. If you verify that this is a router error, then buy a better router.

Thanks you for the many hints :)

I Think. it's a router problem.

Because it is a router from my provider I can't change it simply.

I will continue to follow Betacentauri's tip and restart the box regularly.

How can I do it the easiest way?
