I recently bought a French BIS subscription card which works fine in a smart slot with cccam 2.0.10 on my DM 7000 using Jade Final except for 2 adult channels which require a pin (8080). I couldn't find a way to enter the pin or to change/clear/reset the pin to 0000 to be able to open these channels. I don't have access to another receiver with a built in Viaccess CAM to be able to change the pin.
On another board someone suggested using a Viaccess CI module. I have tried 2 viaccess modules without success. Blue button - hardware settings - Common Interface. The software sees the module but it does not respond to an INIT. After a RESET the module is recognised but when I try to open it to see the settings etc the software just returns a please wait until Esc is pressed.
Is this a hardware fault on my DM 7000 or are there any issues with Jade and the CI slot or is there a setting somewhere that needs to be changed/reset?

You better not use a Common Interface in your 7000.
You can add the pin into the CCcam.cfg, look in /etc, there you can find it:

# set card pin

I tried adding the PIN to the cccam config file that but it did not work.

I have had several subscription cards over the years which have all worked well in smart slots with appropriate software CAMSs but what I have read elsewhere the only way to solve this is either via another box with with a hardware CAM or to use a hardware CI Module on the Dreambox.

Should the CI module work in the DM7000 with PLI Jade?

It is not a PLi issue. I tried a Gemini image with exactly the same results.
It must be a problem with with my DM 7000.

I can't find much on any of the boards about CI modules - I suppose the smart slots normally handle everything

I never had any luck with a PIN code in cccam.cfg either - so I dont think it is unique to your 7000

It looks like the CI module issue is a hardware problem. If I remove the CI module and then try and open it the behaviour is identical.

I think I am going to leave that well alone unless someone can suggest any software checks/settings that I can make.

Hopefully I will buy a DM8000 in the spring which with 3 CI slots should solve this.

What I am not sure of what this means. Does this PIN setting supply a code when the card is read (which is what I initially assumed) or does it change it physically on the card?

Can the smart slots write as well as read?

they can write, but you have to enter the current pin.
I don't think changing the pin is supported, you'll need someone with an original box to do that for you.
