I have the VU+ zero 4k at the moment which is good enough except the missing hw codecs. What do you recommend with similar/better performance and all codecs support pls?
- single Sat tuner is enough
- DVBS2x required
- possibly with DVBT tuner

Well, when you "like" Vu a Uno 4K SE is a nice addition, although I have to remark that a Enigma2 receiver is not a mediaplayer I have never had any problems with playing various media types, it even supports the older Xvid.

Hi,
in another thread I learned that a STB with HiSilicon SOC should have best codec support as they use mobile chips.

Hi,
For better codec have a look indeed at HiSilicon box, I have the gigablue UHD Trio 4K and it support more codec than the VU+.
But there is no Common Interface slot on it so you can only use softcam in it.

The problem is the avi container, so not xvid.
With 'Handbrake' that is quickly transformed, if you want to.
I really don't think it's appropriate to buy another receiver because of this.
Any fireTV or GoogleStick can do better.
I would even prefer Google to FireTV, because then you can use Kodi via detours.
Otherwise the Zero4k does its job well.
Incidentally, just like the Edision OSmio4k with similar hardware, but significantly better support.

Thanks but Uno 4k SE is missing the DVB S2x it seems.

Looks interesting but I don't see any specs on the processor used. It is also 1Gb ram while VU has 2Gb. Does it effect performance in any way?

if you are looking for budget receiver then octagon 8008 s2x/twin or combo is best choice

Or one of it's brothers, the uClan or the Gigablue Trio. Or the Zgemma equivalent.
