I have already reported this problem in another thread.

Today it happened again.

I defined an IN and OUT cut for a recording. MovieCut worked perfectly.

I called CutListEditor again with the original recording and E2 crashed.

The crashlog and cuts file (as ZIP) as attachments. Please let me know if there is anything you need to investigate.

VU+ DUO4K, OpenPLi 8.0

If I do this from a slave on the master, that happens with my Vu+ Ultimo too. You are on the same machine as the recording?

Vu+ Ultimo 4K (4 TB HD, DVBS FSB, DVBC FBC & OpenPli 9),

Xtrend ET10000 (1 DVBS works via ethernet & OpenPli 9),

Xtrend ET10000 (DVBT2 & OpenPli 9, located in Thailand). Only latest stable releases.

Xtrend ET10000 (works via ethernet & OpenPli 9) and

Xtrend ET8000 (1 TB HD, 1 DVBT2 & works via ethernet & OpenPli 9)

Yes, same machine. It does not happen with every recording. Only some recordings seem to be a problem.

../../git/lib/dvb/filepush.cpp:70 ASSERTION !(current_span_remaining % m_blocksize) FAILED

I'll pass it on to Erik.

In the meantime, upgrade to 8.1-release.

I'm not a developer, so someone else has to pick that up.

Oh, then it will never be fixed. I have reported this a long time ago.

Upgrade to 8.1 not advisable at the moment. Servers are down to restore plugins etc.

Who's servers? Nothing is down on our side.

If you mean the message when you select Software update: for an upgrade to 8.1, you need to flash.

I flashed the upgrade with backup and restore and lost all plugins etc. I saw the message during restore that the plugins and packages are not available at the moment. So I ended up with a total empty installation without plugins etc. And in the menu, no plugins are available. I thought with a minor update from 8.0 to 8.1 an upgrade would not be necessary.

I did this before, an upgrade from 7.3 to 8.0 and all settings and plugins had been restored.

The reason behind this has been explained several times. In short, it is due to a hardware failure in our storage server.

You should be able to run the autoinstall manually : menu - setup - auto backup - menu - run autoinstall. It should show you any errors.

p.s. I've checked the logs of the download servers for your ip. I see the image download and the refresh of the package index files, but no attempt to download any plugin.

I created an auto install backup, flashed the image and restored the auto install backup.

No success. Neither plugins were restored nor do I have any access to the plugins (no plugins available).

You didn't make a backup after the flash, did you? Because that would create a new and now empty autoinstall list.

If not, check the backup directory with something like ftp or windows explorer. It has a file called "autoinstall". Does it contain a list of packages? What is the timestamp of that file?

The error occurs during the restore of the plugins and packages etc. I am not able to make a screenshot at this point of installation.

Auto Install restore obviously restores the settings only and not the installed plugins.

I have tried this with WLAN active. I will try this again with a LAN connection.

Maybe at the moment of restore the WLAN connection is still not available.

I wouldn't expect the wlan to be working during the restore, only after the box has rebooted.

Now it worked with LAN but not with WLAN.

Before I was not able to restore any plugins after reboot over WLAN, only the settings had been restored from Auto Install.

Most likely what @ccs wrote: the update failed before the restored WLAN settings could make a connection.

We'll have to see if we can make that more reliable.

The crash problem with CutListEditor still exists, OpenPli 8.1.
