Sound, it cant tune and text wayoff

Ludde's Photo Ludde 17 Feb 2009

had some input from friends that PLI is fast and nice, soo I dumped LT and installed pli, ok it works, but I have som issues..
first I did install a fan to cool down the cpu from 85celcius to 45.. but

46" Sony HDMI, AV Receiver HDMI and DB800 PVR in the end.. also diseq switch before dish.. two heads for Thor and Sirius.

1. the sound.. it doesnt switch between AC3 and Mpeg? all other images does?
2. the teletext is underwear blue.. how to change the colours, hints?
3. the text on HD channels is parked to high up to the left on the screen.
4. this one is a PITA, works fine then.. changing channel fails. "Tuning failed" that sometimes work by seleting another channel but tonite, reboot 3 times.. hangs on boot.. .. ideas?

ohh btw 30 sec pwr of between boot.. a bunch of crock..

Have you set this page up correctly in your box >> E2Video << I guess not if you are having the same HD issues.

Also is your TV a real HDTV or is only an HD ready TV as it may not do 1920x1080 as you think it may as it is ready for HD but will not do HDTV (no joke - google this and see the marketing cons out there).

I have used everthing from a 50" plasma and LCD down to a 7" LCD and they all work with the PLI Jade2 software, but not in 1920x1080 as they are all (bar one of them) only HD Ready TV's

I can find the manual or spec sheet on line for the Sony W4500 series on the European sony site, which says.

Sorry, no files were found for the model specified. Please check your inputs, or try again later as manuals are added on a regular base.

Any thoughts where i can find one just to confirm it is not a HD Ready TV and a real HD Tv please?

switch like?

2. the teletext is underwear blue.. how to change the colours, hints?

this is Teletext new style which was also allready a long time in Enigma2
i believe you can set it back to black via the Menu button

3. the text on HD channels is parked to high up to the left on the screen.

when you mention dvb subtitles they are set in the dvb stream, go complain at your provider

4. this one is a PITA, works fine then.. changing channel fails. "Tuning failed" that sometimes work by seleting another channel but tonite, reboot 3 times.. hangs on boot.. .. ideas?

common failure of the dm800 and its Enigma2 software, not specific PLi
see the elitedvb logs from monday, let's hope that DMM fixed it

fix ConfigNone, this fixes the endless bootloop with dm800

see my answer above
workaround:

- box power off
- press the on/off button 30 times to unload the capacitors inside
- bow power on
- most of the time the box will boot up correctly

I think this might be related to a report from one of the beta testers earlier. It looks like E2 positions the subtitles 'x' pixels from the top, 'y' pixels from the left, but doesn't alter the 'x' and 'y' values based on the current resolution used. Which means that when you're watching a full HD channel, subtitles end up in the middle of the screen, and to far to the left...

So either other image builders have fixed this but not published the fix to the E2 repository (shame on them!), or all image have the same behaviour.

1. the sound.. it doesnt switch between AC3 and Mpeg? all other images does?

In the menu:
Standaard AC3 YES.
Downmix AC3 NO

Thats the way AC3 works by me, and if there is no AC3 then Mpeg works.

I had LT before and if you go to a mpeg channel and thers also AC3 it picks AC3. this doesnt switch to the other even if the program sent lost that sound channel, its just dead so you have to go in and choose new sound.. again..

2. the teletext is underwear blue.. how to change the colours, hints?
