Problem with hard disk backup with OpenPli...

marcopiu's Photo marcopiu 8 Dec 2023

From tests carried out, I have found that OpenPli 9.0 when creating a backup on the hard disk In fact, in media/hdd/ the imagebackups folder is created where inside there is a zipped file called (for example: backup-openpli9.0-release-pulse4k-20231207-2170.zip).

This zipped file contains a subfolder with the creation date (example: 20131207_2155) where inside this folder there is another subfolder called: pulse4k where inside there are the 3 image files: imageversion – rootfs. tar.bz2 – ulmage. With this path: 20131207_2155/pulse4k/ it will not be possible to upload the image because it will give me this message Invalid image!.

In order to install the backup image I will have to remove the 20131207_2155 folder. Therefore, in order to install the backup image of the Hard Disk, the file (e.g. backup-openpli9.0-release-pulse4k-20231207-2170.zip must contain only the pulse4k folder where inside there will be the 3 files of the 'image: imageversion – rootfs.tar.bz2 – ulmage. (without the folder: 20131207_2155).

Is it possible to find a solution?

Thanks

Mark

Try to create your backup on USB and it should generate an USB flashable backup.

If you chooses to create it on the HDD it will never be installable at boot so the naming convention can be different.

HDD backup is aimed installing a new image from scratch, install BackupSuite and restore your HDD backup from it.
