I'm pretty sure I'm right, I just add things like "I believe" so I don't sound like a know it all... ;)

1080p as advertised by the NA sat providers is actually supplied over the internet I believe, using their proprietary STBs...

#277473 DM8000 DVB-C Nothing to search

Posted by hemispherical1 on 18 May 2012 - 17:20

You don't have to use BA, mixing & matching kernels, drivers, & images, in order to run multiple images on the DB. You can run complete images from USB or the network.

How To Boot The Dm800 From A USB Stick for example...

#275808 HD-Lite Missing 2nd Info Bar...

Posted by hemispherical1 on 9 May 2012 - 01:37

Ya, the second infobar appears across the top of the screen containing additional info from the normal infobar across the bottom. 2nd infobar also needs to be activated in the menu - setup - system - customize screen, unless it's activated by default...

#275478 Nutrino Remote for 800HD SE, Pli 2.1, is this possible ?

Posted by hemispherical1 on 7 May 2012 - 16:15

Still I do not understand why people do not want to change???

Because the normal behavior sucks... Didn't we already cover that? ;)

I couldn't resist,

#275330 Nutrino Remote for 800HD SE, Pli 2.1, is this possible ?

Nothing personal, but "Normal Behavior" sucks... ;)

That's why we like opensourced & highly configurable boxes, we can configure them any way we like.

#273962 USB Boot Wiki

Posted by hemispherical1 on 29 April 2012 - 18:23

I added a wiki entry on how to boot the dm800 from a USB stick (no barry allen or plugins). I know it works with the 800, but if anyone feels like playing with other models to see if it also works with them (8000, 800se, 7020hd, 7025, etc...) it could be linked into their sections of the wiki besides the 800 section. I don't have access to any other models to test myself...

Thanks,

#272672 Open PLi sources (direct links, supports acceleration,...)

Posted by hemispherical1 on 21 April 2012 - 23:33

Thank you. Those who have had source files forever often never realize what sources are missing until someone posts on their first build, looking for them. Tracking down the missing sources is generally no fun, although most can be found attached to different threads on this forum. It'd be nice to have them all in one spot.

I'm attaching my sources listing, builds dm800 & dm8000 fine (there may also be some E1 sources in there, my sources have been hanging around for a couple years and includes a few multiple revisions of outdated sources).

If all goes well perhaps the makefile can be edited to fallback to your server when ever sources are otherwise irretrievable...

#266424 Interpreter sh

Posted by hemispherical1 on 26 March 2012 - 21:27

I don't have a 7025, but Enigmas 1 & 2 use busybox, located under /bin, /bin/sh being a "symlink" to busybox...

#266404 OpenWebif [E2OpenPlugins]

Posted by hemispherical1 on 26 March 2012 - 20:50

If using an OpenPLi image:

opkg update
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif

Or you could probably install through the package management system (plugins) with the remote.

Other images you could just download he files from https://github.com/E...Webif/downloads & copy to / over write your existing OpenWebIf install...

#264216 Informations about changes made in new OpenPLi releases

Posted by hemispherical1 on 18 March 2012 - 00:51

So it's like a blind flight, with reams of pilots and nobody think about where this flight might lead them to. So it's not that kind of way to do things, which is inspiring big confidence.

No EVERYTHING is documented, for those that aren't too lazy to look. The other's are free to fly off to wherever... ;)

#261893 DM800 & Perhaps Other Lost Video

Posted by hemispherical1 on 8 March 2012 - 20:32

Well, every month or 2 I test to see if the problem is still there... It appears to have disappeared lately though, but I'm not sure exactly when. Lately I've been able to watch mp4, mkv, flv, etc (containing h.264) and no longer lose video on exit. Although it occasionally worked fine before, I can't see it just me being lucky as I've been through 100 or so files "testing" and haven't lost video once.

Anyone else that had experienced the problem in the past may want to check and see if it is solved for them also...

#256444 DM500/600?

Posted by hemispherical1 on 20 February 2012 - 20:19

Looking at the command you used or at least posted above...

./make_cdk_image ~/pli/trunk/cdk /home/tom/ dm500-chinese (you missed the space between /home/tom/ & dm500-chinese)

I assume you're tom so your command's destination directory was ~/dm500-chinese (/home/tom/dm500-chinese) & missing the boxtype.
