In Topic: OpenPli installation on Vu+ Solo SE v2 takes very long?

I bought a new Kingston USB stick (8GB, no smaller was for sale), copied the newest files into it, and installation was successful. Thanks to everyone for answers.

Maybe the old stick is faulty but I think it's rather weird that it caused the installation to start but it did not finish. Perhaps I will stress test that stick next... Some thousands of GBs of write operations should reveal defects.

The flash itself over an hour is not normal.... But you mentioned 8 min....??

The second attempt was at 8 min when I posted. The third attempt has been running for nearly 2 hours now, and the led is still pulsing.

I'll buy a new USB stick tomorrow, although I doubt it would help. Could the device just be faulty?

Vu does nou have a console output in their drivers so auto restore and especially auto install progression is fully unintended and indeed could take long

So over 1 hour could be normal, even when flashed from a USB stick like I'm doing??

I'll try it once again and leave it flashing overnight then...

And by the way, I flashed my friend's Vu+ Zero a while ago and it took only a couple of minutes.

Looks like I cannot edit the previous message so I post a new one...

I turned it off again, connected the USB stick to computer and checked the file MD5 hashes against the downloaded files on my computer. All files seem to be OK.

I turned it off and removed the USB stick. When I turned it on, it only showed the "Vu+ Your Smart Linux TV Player" screen, nothing else. So apparently the flashing procedure had started but not finished properly.

I reformatted the stick, downloaded an older version of OpenPli, copied the files, connected the stick to a different port and tried again. The flashing procedure started but now it has already been pulsing for 8 minutes.
