In Topic: OpenPLI 8.1 on Gigablue UHD Trio 4K : no satellite signal

Yes, very weird : I would understand if my Gigablue would not receive anything at all, but here, it does receive less channels than normal. and sometimes, all channels come back. Tonight it is still working fine, but I will replace it anyway.

Now it works again ... Sometimes it works fine, sometimes not. So I have ordered a new Trio 4K and will send this one back.

OK so I did some new tests : I re installed the 8.1 release, and now it displays a satellite signal. But when I search for the channels, then it only find 620 channels instead of about 2000 ... All my favorite channels are not there.

So I did a new channel search with the Gigablue original firmware, and it's the same ...

So for some reason, my Gigablue does not detect all the channels available.

I tried to connect the satellite cable to another satellite receiver, and on the other one all channels are correctly detected. So the problem does not come from the satellite cable, but more from my Gigablue receiver ...

Finally, my problem seem to be coming from my Gigablue receiver, I wonder if there is something (driver / firmware) I can update on it to try to solve this issue.

OK so I decided to re-install from scratch a new OpenPLI 8.1 image in a new slot. Now OpenPLI seems to find the satellite again.

So I will have to re-install everything (plugins, picons, etc ...) but that's good news, but I would be glad to know what happened with my previous 8.1 release ...

OK but why with the original Gigablue firmware, all channels are received fine, and not with the OpenPLI firmware ?

This is why I think I have a software problem, not a hardware problem. And the software problem comes with my OpenPLI firmware ... Very strange ...

The satellite finder of OpenPLI does not find anything, just like if the satellite cable was not connected, but with the original Gigablue firmware, the satellite signal is fine.

I double checked the satellite parameters on OpenPLI and they are identical to the Gigablue firmware.
