#242615 Vu+ Kernel 3.1.1 beta

Posted by Pale-Rider on 31 December 2011 - 00:43

Apparently VU+ delivered patches...

http://openpli.git.s...c56b6f6562052d1

yes but rather messy!!!!!, this is one commit i will be skipping ;)

yeah seems the thread that was locked for me postsing the 3.1.1 drivers may have been a little short sighted. also for those interested new drivers were again released today but i'm not allowed to post them here, so you will have to google.

I never have say that I did not wait for the last update
I have only say that having tested this update I did not see big novelty, it is thus of no use of be so impatient and to put under pressure the team PLI
If PLI team can give us new kernel in 2 weeks or 1 month i don't thing it's really a problem because VU+ are running very well with previous version too , it's my opinion
Ps : sorry for my bad english , i hope everybody can understand what i write :P

a lot of the added benefits to the kernel upgrade are behind the scenes such as improved driver support for USB devices direct from the kernel level it self meaning less need for externally added drivers etc. now you cant tell me there is no benefit form that surely ?.

But in between you did the work.....

well no disrespect intended but if we just sat around and waited for manufacturers to hand us every thing on a plate we would never have moved on from the basic images, i can see your point and i do somewhat agree that promises have been made and you want to make sure that those promises are upheld. but were in this as a hobby and some people just cant sit still and wait, they have to do kind of like andy.

#241153 vu+uno transponders problems still exist ?

Posted by Pale-Rider on 26 December 2011 - 11:09

Which transponders are you having problems with ? as with my uno on 28.2 east i have never experienced problems with any transponder either before or after the FPGA upgrade.

#241120 New FPGA update Vu+ Uno FPGA-4.4

Posted by Pale-Rider on 26 December 2011 - 08:34

Why are the different the V.X team members putting here so much effort in pushing the Pli Dev's?

I thought you had a good if not the best image?
You surely don't need Pli to become as good as your image?

There is nothing wrong with offering help where possible, after all we are all in the same hobby so why not help each other ?.
as for me, well i'm on hundreds of forums from and help who ever and where ever i can.

#241087 vu+uno transponders problems still exist ?

if you mean the Uno as in your thread title you must upgrade the FPGA otherwise it wont work properly.

you can load the plugin via this thread

http://openpli.org/f...vu-uno-fpga-44/

and you can get the FPGA file it self from here

http://archive.vuplus.com/download/fpga/vuuno/4.4

#241086 New FPGA update Vu+ Uno FPGA-4.4

Posted by Pale-Rider on 25 December 2011 - 21:56

MAYBE THEY DONT THINK IT NECESSARY IN pli lol.

Believe me it is absolutely necessary as the FPGA upgrade reprograms the chip that controls the tuner card and repairs the sr 30,000 problem amongst other things.

take this file, extract the folder called FPGAUpgrade and copy that to

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/systemplugins

on your receiver then reboot. the FPGA upgrade option will now be in the plugins section.

Vu+ Uno
New drivers released 22-12-2011. Various fixes
I dont now if it is depends to Kernel 3.1.1.

yes as andy said, the fact that there is a 3.1.1 in the file name means there for the 3.1.1 kernel.

#241001 Vu+ Kernel 3.1.1 beta

Posted by Pale-Rider on 25 December 2011 - 13:25

What do you mean with giving them a quick spin?

he was speaking to Milo as he said his box was gathering dust without a pli based image, rather than let it sit there doing nothing why not put vix on it for a while to try untill you have your own image working ?.
