In Topic: DUO2 transconding is function?

10 February 2015 - 21:43

just have flashed today's build (previous was VTi 8.1)

Result:

- in OpenWebIf the transcoding Icon is present

- normal Streaming works

- transcoded Streaming aborts with VLC error

(Your input can't be opened:

VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.169.75:None/1:0:19:132F:3EF:1:C00000:0:0:0:'. Check the log for Details.

Have installed the Transcoding Plugin, from PLi Feed,  set to 2Mbit and 720p

Using Android Devices (Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab S) with Android 4.4.x and VU-Player 2.2

Running in Transcode reports 1 Mbit although Plugin set to 2 Mbit.

When running VTi 8.1 there was a plugin which let me set all Parameters (Bandwidth, Ports, Framerate etc.)

Is there any remedy from PLi ???

In Topic: VU+Duo2 -- Hidden SSID

there is no "WLAN-usb-stick" on the Duo2 - at least not externally visible, it's just the box.

or maybe there is something like this internally connected to a USB-connector ......

I don't know and I don't want to know so I don't care.

It's there and it works properly with VTi (and like you, I don't have all the time in the world just to check out with all the other available images for the Duo2)

If you don't want to support this mentioned function, don't offer it in the config.

well then:

"works properly" means that even the oldest Windows XP from the very beginning of WLANs could handle this issue.

and the necessary parameter always used to be: "connect even if the network does not broadcast it's SSID" (and it still is there in Win 7)

And I wonder why a modern system in 2014 can not.

This is a basic feature and - sorry - it does NOT work properly in PLi 4.

For what reason did you then implement the possible selection of "hidden SSID" in the configuration ?????

well, we can discuss the usability of hidden SSIDs for ends....

Fact is, OpnPLi does not handle it properly whereas VTi does .

any comments on THIS ?

this was a quite silly comment .....

However - my SSIDs (2,4 GHz as well as 5,0) are hidden.

although it gives no security it prevents occasional stalkers to even try.

And this is kind of security - isn't it ???

However:

I just tried with VTI 7.01 Image and it works as designed !

You may want to amend.......
