etc/smb.log - Unable to open printcap file /etc/printcap for read!

1 december 2014 - 15:37

I hope for help.  Using Vu+duo with Openpli4 (1 TB drive)  I have had a lot of trouble resently with recordings.  I have two cables from the parabol. Everything is OK when watching TV and also stream with webif on my computer, only with recordings it is something wrong.

Looking on recordings I have a lot of stopping and the first often happens after about 19-20 min. After that there can be stop almost every sec until it is total stop and there is no other way out than cut the power.  Furthermore it happens some day later that I tried the same recording again - and then it was OK.  The stops happens not in every recording but both in HD and not HD programs.

Somebody told me to look into the smb.log but I can't explain what happens there.  I enclose the file which shows everything from my flashing of Openpli4 a week ago.  The last days one event shows every day in the file - something like "Unable to open printcap file /etc/printcap for read!"

Looking into etc/ there is no pcap file.

What's wrong and what can I do?

Changing skins on Openpli4 on Vu+duo

26 november 2014 - 11:34

Some simple questions.  I'm new on OpenPli - using OpenPli 4 on Vu+duo  and can see two skins in the Skin menu: Pli-Hd and Pli-Hd2.  I think I'm now using Pli-Hd as default through the install of OpenPli 4.

1. Can I move to Pli-Hd2 without any more need for changing setup? Only restart?

2. Where can I change the strong yellow color of the text on the tv-canals? Lower intency or?

3. What other skins can be used / loaded without going through ipk via my computer? Suggestions? (would be happy with some like blackhole 2.1.1 or 2.1.2).

Openpli 4 on vu+duo - set the TV in standby when close

25 november 2014 - 18:29

As mentioned in the heading I get standby on the Philips TV when setting the vu+duo in standby (a little red light in front).  This is a problem as I can't find any other way to wake up the TV than use the remote control for the Philips TV to do this.  (A remote control which I else never use.)

I hope for help finding a method to avoid this standby on the TV from the vu+duo.
