Hello Everyone,

I’m seeking help from the community regarding a driver issue with my Zgemma H9 Combo running OpePli 9.0. The problem specifically involves my Si2168 USB external tuner, which is not being recognized or working on the device.

Device Information:

• Device: Zgemma H9 Combo
• External USB Tuner: Si2168 DVB-T2/C (TerraTec Cinergy TC2 DVB-T2 Stick)
• Issue: The internal tuner on the Zgemma H9 Combo works fine, but the Si2168 USB external tuner is not recognized or functioning at all. The device fails to detect or properly initialize the tuner.

Steps Taken So Far:

1. I checked the dmesg logs, and while my internal tuners are being detected, there’s no proper detection or registration for the external Si2168 tuner.

   Example output for the internal tuner:

What I've Tried:

• Installing Si2168-related firmware and modules via opkg.
• Loading the modules manually with modprobe.
• Reviewing /proc/bus/nim_sockets and dmesg logs for tuner detection.

Unfortunately, the external tuner remains non-functional.

 

 

Next Steps:

If anyone has experience with the Si2168 USB external tuner and can provide assistance with driver support for or OpenPLI, your help would be greatly appreciated! I’m more than willing to collaborate in testing or debugging any solutions.

 

Working on Debian/Ubuntu:

It’s worth noting that the following firmware files work perfectly with the Si2168 tuner on Debian and Ubuntu with TvHeadend:

• dvb-demod-si2168-02.fw
• dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw
• dvb-usb-it9303-01.fw

The tuner works seamlessly with TvHeadend on these systems, so I’m hoping for similar support on OpenPLI.

Skills I Can Offer:

I have good Linux and electronics skills, and I’m more than willing to assist with debugging, testing, or building the necessary drivers. If there are specific steps you need me to take, I can provide logs or other diagnostics.

Afaik that USB ID is supported by enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-af9035. This is a meta package that will pull in all required packages.

It seems the internal DVB/CT2 tuner is the same as the external one.

I have installed the package using the command opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-af9035, but nothing happens.

I assume you rebooted after you've done that?

 

What driver does tvheadend use? lsmod should tell you?

Those are only the firmware files, not the drivers. You need to check lsmod for that.

 

As to the firmware, those are just data files, so you can copy them to /lib/firmware the box without problems. But as they are loaded by the drivers, the question still is which drivers you exactly need.

 

Also, check if the em28xx driver is installed on the box, and if so, either remove it, or blacklist it, as it conflicts with the af9035 driver that is needed for this device.
