Hi everyone;

 

 

I firstly apologize if thread is not suitable!

 

 

I installed this plugin to try and installed correctly.

So I do not see the name of plugin on receiver but I can see on the list(extensions menu) with ftp.

Yes, Indeed.

 

 

Strange that I can see extension into  /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions

 

Apart from extensions not visible under plugins menu.

 

 

A while ago I tried this plugin on pli and vix there was a problem "Build structure(architecture) error"

 

Now I am amazed Its installed...

There are three potential problems with an ipk you download from an unknown / untrusted source:

• it can be built for a different architecture
• it can be built against different dependencies
• it can be built for a specific enigma2 or python version

In the first case, it won't even install, in the second case it will install but the installation will fail (if the ipk defines its dependencies) or crash when run (if not). In the third case, it will crash too (maybe not at once, but eventually it will).

 

It is a big problem that most ipk's out there are built by developers who are clueless as to how everything exactly works but assume that if it works for them, it works for everyone, on every box, with every image. This is definitely not the case.

 

If you want to know why it isn't visible, restart Enigma in debug mode, when it is restarted, restart it again in normal mode, and check the debuglog file created on the box.

Tried debug mode like this;

It can not pass 3rd command. It gives "no process killed"

I also tried this plugin on develop image.  As I said before "architecture error"

Like I wrote, you can't just download any ipk and assume it will work.

That plugin works on 3.1x.xx,etc,etc...

 

I like openpli. In fact I have been looking forwarding to see last Yocto project for a long time on pli but Unfortunately; a few people supports this image like you.

 

I mean PLI looks like "oldies but goldies"

I installed another opensource image (3.12.6) and It works good.

There must be styhead 5.1 based

All files are the same on pli or other image except for _init_.pyc file

I've tried to explain to you the many reasons why something made for image A doesn't run on image B.

 

The idea all images are identical, interchangable and compatible is a falicy. There are differences in OE versions, differences in Python versions, and diferences in Enigma API. And in the case of ipk's with binaries, also difference in hardware architecture.

 

You don't investigate any of it, you don't provide debug logging (or any other details for that matter) and continue in your attempts to make it our problem. Which it isn't.

Plugin does shows in the menu without issue on arm based box with developed image. Im not sure which box you using but make sure you trying to install correct architecture .ipk for your box.

edit i can see on your first post you have h7 if i remember correctly its arm based box . So try this  attached file via telnet .

The H7 has a Broadcom ARM SoC, with cortexa15hf-neon-vfpv4 architecture.

 

Which should not be relevant given the fact the ipk is marked "all",  indicating it should not contain any binary code at all (and that includes compiled python).

 

I had a quick look in the ipk, but is does contain binaries, so one more thing that is wrong with this ipk distribution...

Its strange that This plugin (as said; suitable for dev pli image) can be installed on stable pli image unlike develop image.

 

I tried that plugin on dev image then It can be installed but Dev Image was deleting MultiStalkerPro Folder under Extensions.

Which is weird as develop is using the same OE and python version as 9.0-release (develop is the preparation for 9.1-release). However,

your first post showed you installed an ipk made for "all" architecture, while the github account you linked to contains ARCH specific packages. So appearently what you write isn't what you did.

 

And even if you download and installed the file in the "openpli/arm" directory, you'd install the wrong one, as they are for "armv7ahf-neon", which is VU+, not Zgemma.

 

Also, that account shows clearly that the author has no clue how to make proper ipk's, nor anything about OpenPLi images. He (or she?) published packages that we have in the feed, and collide with what we have in the feed, and should NEVER be installed.

I will try on vuduo4k,hd51 and other device on weekend.

 

Only git169 version ipk (Multistalker Pro v1.2) file can be installed. Older versions(v1.0-v1.1) gives architecture error. Its weird.

Dont waste your time....That plugin often gives architecture errors when installed on certain boxes. Its not made correct and besides its not worth the efforts.
