A fix for what?
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I can't reproduce that.
If I change the settings to "original position", the subtitles go down more, not up.

Can you switch the subtitles to the ones without background color and 'borders' (so white with black edges) and try again? It looks like somehow the background is too high. The snapshot from Wanwizard shows the subs with borders (black edgets) and also orriginal color. Here you do not see the background overlap.. Please note showing them with borders does also look more professional.
It looks indeed due to inserts (scores, names of skyers) at the bottom the broadcaster put the subs on top....
What skin are you using? When I select with background I do not see them that high, with the text low in the box....

You've put the text lines two close together, so that if you activate the background, the backgound will overlap.

All you can do for the time being, is to disable background for subtitles.
As littlesat already staded, the background is too high and is overlapping the previous line. Mabe this can be corrected in the future?
The issue seems to occur only when the subtitles are located in the upper side.

If I toggle between original position or not, the line spacing changes. So the question is, is this spacing broadcasted, or is this a bug in the software,
Also, It looks like the background is taller when the subs are displayed on top, compared to at the bottom, and at the bottom, the text is vertically centered, while at the top, the text sits much lower in the background.
