I wonder if there is still development and support for the 8.3 version? Or is it only for 9.x. I know that OpenATV stopped everything for Python 2 images since end of 2022 but Openpli 8.3 seems to me more up to date than OATV 6.4. I ask, because I have to use a Python 2 image.

The answer is no. After an OpenbPLi release, in this case 8.3, almost nothing will be changed anymore, all development will be in the next version. With 9.0 we migrated to Python version 3, so some not maintained plugins were removed, also see our release notes https://wiki.openpli.org/Releases

Hardware: Vu+ Uno 4K SE - Vu+ Duo 4K  - Fuba 78 cm - Tripleblock LNB Quad 19.2/23.5/28.2 - DS918+

To be specific: there is a difference between support and development.

We provide support for the current and previous major release images (now 9.0 and 8.3), which means we (try to) fix bugs when reported, or (try to) backport fixes if needed and possible. No new development happens for any release image, all development is geared towards the next release.

Note that work is underway for OpenPLi 10, once 10.0-release is out, support for OpenPLi 8 will be dropped, so you'd better start working on getting rid of that Python 2 dependency.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
