There are some ipk packages/commands I miss from OpenPLI repo:

iotop
atop
rsnapshot
git

Could be possible to add these commands to the Openpli repo, so they could be installed?

Why would you run "make" on a receiver? Next you're asking for gcc.…

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Uhm, yes, gcc would be the next :-)

Well, I use VU+ DUO 4K SE.

So I wanted to use a git on the DVB receiver, but I did not found a way to install git, nor a way to compile git in place.

I have no installed Linux at home, so I wanted to install or compile git locally on the DVB receiver.

Why would it be so wrong to use the receiver to compile small tasks, when there is no another Linux computer around?

it will be extremely slow and Flash/RAM could be the next problem if it works at all.

Install Linux in a VM and be happy.

Correct. Even the fastest STB won't match a raspberry Pi in performance ( the SoC may be silimar, but the I/O system is dead slow ).

We're busy converting our build server farm to docker, as we need different OS versions to build different OpenPLi releases. When it is working fine, I'm planning to publish the docker file in the wiki, so everyone can use it to create a homebuild.

Thanks, that would be awesome!
