Dear DimitarCC

If someone use any renderer or converter from my skin and didn't change the name of it, this is not my fault or something I can prevent, I am using other people work and no problem to use my work,

I mentioned OPENATV Feed to explain to you that, sure many users with different box architecture try it and sure if they have a problem they will report it somewhere,

Again, feel free to use it or not, I am not a developer as I mentioned before, let's make it simple, it is just a skin, if it make a problem with your device simply remove it, it will not explode your box

 

All i say is in response to your complains that nobody reports anything about the skin. It is simply because openpli users expect it in the feed. They dont bother install it from IPK.

And the skin is not in the feed because of what i mentioned above. Without that fixed i doubt it will be in the feed, so users will probably not have a chance to test it.

As for myself i have my own skin to maintain so i probably not install another ...

You keep saying that, but if you are not, where does the code come from? If you haven't made it, it might be in use elsewhere. Most developers prefix their classes with something specific to them, to avoid collisions.

edit: the converters look very much like those from MCelliotG's Glamour skins...

I didn't ask to upload the skin to your feed, I am just offer my work, to let end user have something new on their boxes,

You talk about postinst (killall command), I removed already,

You talk about opbitrate I explain the purpose of it and if you decide not to use it it is Okey.

You talk about renderers and converters and I explain it customize to the skin my name both install and removal

Now, you ask about similarities of rendereres with another skins,


This is too much for me as long your system is too close and you are happy with it, this make me happy as well,

Don't see it as blame, it is just an indication that the code by far isn't unique, which brings the risk @DimatarCC points too.

 

And it is not about similarities, but about uniqueness. Names of python classes / files must be unique image-wide, as they are installed in the same directory. So you have to make sure that ALL names are unique to you and your skins. If not then installing one skin will overwrite code from another.

 

None of this is critisism, but help in creating a better and more stable and usable skin. If you're not interested in that, than I guess you're right.

For a good bitrate it would be helpful for skinners to add a renderer for it into the standard code that can be used. But this is a difficult one as the bitrate is kind of intensive to determine it (it needs constant microcontroller calculation time when it indicates values). While it does not have any real added value (it does actually not indicate the real quality of the video as there are more factors that indicate the quality).


In general when a skin adds own renderers it is a not done. Then better get it added to the image(s)… then also other skinners can use it. And the image(s) can also improve and optimize it. And you also do not have the risk when skins add renderers and code with the same file names for example that they do not ‘overwrite’ each other. So another skin may not work anymore.

Actually adding renderers should be forbidden from the beginning….

This is only a little point of view

 

* The skin colors are oversaturated and not plain colors. For example; Similar Colors are ,not contrasting colors, overhelming colors on channel list section. As a matter of fact that; Human eye, of course,does not select the beauty of         not complementary colors 

   Colors are grinning when i watch with high end tv.

* As an old man; Its weird that Background pictures (sport cars,etc,etc,) not necessary.

*As I said before Colors are described (purple,red,blue,orange,etc) not match with own name.

 

Lastly; Is it possible to add colors like mauve,cobalt,dark blue ?

Let me try to help you for better view,

In XDREAMY plugin you have a lot of options which suit your needs,

Skin color styles : you can use Grey color or blue color, Iam prefer orange and green.

Background : you can use default or select screen templates without background at all black, you already have 3 or 4 options basic without background at all.

Channel Names and menu font color : you can use default to have the regular white color.


There are a lot of options in the skin and that was the idea, one skin used for all images all the time.


NB;

The remove png option used to wipe or clean the predownloads posters only.

"No Module Named" error when installing openpli-develop image.

I removed and reinstalled your skin

I gave this command then no problem here.

 

Skin has dependency problem within new pli image 

 

PS:  I forgot to ask that can i delete bootlogo.mvi files? 

opkg update && opkg install python3-pillow

Can you please provide full error or screenshot, I think it was "No Module Name pli"

So try to install it in same way


You can remove bootlogo from skin folder or turn it off from XDREAMY plugin, this will not remove the original Bootlogo of the image and you can restart normally after that.

Another negative comment for no reason !!

the user reported an issue with limited infromation, the maker (as you mentioned) correct the user report and advise him with corrective action, in a very short time, so what is your problem, the control file working perfect with over 10 diffirent image so it is not broken.

 

i do not add package dependencies to my control file for simple reason, The skin is universal not detected to pli development version......

Do you know what is the broken?

stay in python 3.9.9 and most of images now use python 3.12.4 up to python 3.13
have image have no grid system while other offer it in plugin browser and channels list
have image have no support for corner radius or color gredient.

if you are happy with 5 similar skins almost same skin, no problem with me,

At this moment all the control is lost due to there are too many teams and nobody works together… it is already for years and years complete kaos in the enigma2 scene. Some teams hack open embedded just to get bigger numbers (eg python), which breaks stuff in other teams. Some teams ‘hack’ features like the ‘matrix’ stuff without any coordination. And at this moment no real new stuff is made/added beside adding things to the ui making things even more complicated.
Under the line skins should not contain any py code at all…. Coding should be done by the rest of the image.
