• I am not a professional skinner or developer, or anything related to sat, enigma...etc., but I like to make some customization to my box skin so that you can enjoy it on your responsibility.
• Preview images in the xDreamy plugin are not finished yet.
• Some skin features are not properly displayed with the OpenPLi image (due to the old Python version). Moreover, there is no box image available in the OpenPLI image, so if you want to display your box image on the skin, you have to manually copy your box image from the path (usr/share/enigma2) to the skin folder and rename it (boximage.png).

It is not enough for me to keep viewing the post without any kind of interaction or feedback from your side,

If you want me to keep posting here, you should share your experience with the skin, spotlight on bugs, errors... etc.

I view everything. Not intrested in this skin at all, gives me a headache. So no point replying, but you insisted.
 
Also, don't post the same thing twice, so we have to remove it.

Also, post normal posts, instead of all sorts of copy and paste rubbish, which makes people skip it instead of read it.

 

If you want the interest of OpenPLi users. provide the source, so a bitbake recipe can be made and we can compile it into a package. Instead of providing closed source ipk's and dubious hosted installers, that noby knows how to use.

Actually I don't know who you are to speak in such unpolit way,

the ipk is not close source or it include something hidden, did you try had a look on it before you speak?

If you want any any kind of files to include it in your package, the simple way is asking, but you don't ask...

For repeating posting, actually this is a problem in your website, it not easy to upload images or attach files, or post links.

Finally if you are not interest in my work, that is your choice, I am not forcing any body to use it, my post for users who try it,


Anyway, thanks for your silly response and no needs to keep any post related to this skin, you can delete it.

I'm just saying that 98% or more of OpenPLi users are end-users. They don't visit forums very often, they don't know what an ipk is or what to do with it, let alone what to do with a "wget" commandline.

 

If you want your skin to be visable and usable by OpenPLi users, provide the source in a git repo it can be build from.

 

And... you are the one complaining about lack of response. I just gave you the two main reasons for it: not interested, or no clue what to do with your information.

WanWizard doesn't want to hurt you but as he explained the way to install your skin is not user-friendly.

I can understand that you are spending hours to develop your own skin and would like to have people feedback about it.

 

But since you have a github account why not publish the source code structure directly in your github?

Then create a recipe file that can be included into a normal image build process.

So end-user can install it from the OpenPLi feed and get it update when updating there boxes.

 

I just check your installer a kill -9 enigma is a bit violent to restart enigma2.

 

And init 4  some sleep then init 3 is a more proper way to restart enigma2.

 

init 4 will save properly the setting that are still in memory and preserve your EPG data.

And yes, killing the Enigma process is a very big no, that could lead to loss of data and data corruption.

Really appreciate your positive response, as I mentioned in my post before, I am not professional skinner or programmer, my experience in different things not related to all of these stuff.

I am totally agree with you for the mentioned point related to killall -9 enigma2 command, you are the expert in this field not me, for this reason I was looking for users feedback as per of skin improvement cycle, I will consider this point in next update.

I have to spend some time to read about some points mentioned in you comment regarding setting the files in my github account, currently I am just upload my ipk to compli with my installation telnet command, I can not compare myself with DimitarCC, he is so professional and he is another level compared to my basic knowledge. So if you are interested I have no problem to send you a link with tar ext include all my skin files, or let's wait to implement your suggestions in the right way.

Again appreciate your advise and feedback.

The kill of enigma2’is also not needed when the package is correctly created with the build process enogma2 aranged the restart and eg also show a popup when a recoding could be interrupted.

I am not a developer myself, but you can find many skins that are properly proposed in github repo.

 

Just get inspired by what is done by other skinners, create the same files structure has the other does and it will be a very good start.

• Finally, the virtual keyboard for pure2 image should be fixed and improved.

• Remove force restart (killall -9 enigma2) from postinst file (some people believe it is too aggressive),

The restart for enigma2 is totally not required when you put it on GitHub. See here an example https://github.com/l...esat/skin-PLiHD then all images can add a receipt.

Sorry for inconvenience but I hope to get more support in this point,can you please explain more,

I can upload all skin files to github but how to create the receipt you mentioned?

Skin include a render called ibitrate3, which used to collect video/audio Bitrates calculated by the file called opbitrate (this file located in bin in some images by default like openspa, if the file not existing the render read nothing,


This is independent method to calculate video /audio Bitrates otherwise you have to use Bitrates plugin which already available as alternating option in the skin.
