I've manually deleted a couple of user bouquets (the actual *.tv files) but they're now showing as  <n/a>

How do I get rid of these empty entries?

Thank you

Better question how you get it… you have services in the userbouquets that are not (anymore) available in the lamedb.

In /etc/enigma2/, ensure that each line in the bouquets.tv file matches the corresponding userbouquet.dbeXX.tv file. If there is a mismatch, it may result in entries showing as "N/A". Additionally, remove any outdated or *.old files to prevent conflicts.

And reread the service list

Good Luck

It also happens when in a custom bouquet when there are also programs from Fastscan, and scanning the same satellite causes then this <n/a>.

However, simply using Fastscan again resolves everything.

If I read this correctly, it is not about channels, but about the bouquets themselfs.

I guess you deleted them from the commandline, instead how you should, which is from the UI.

And if so, you see "N/A" because you didn't delete them from the boquet index, so now they are missing. So also update the bouquets.tv file.

I agree…done by deleting files instead of doing it via the user interface… just done without knowing what doing…

Hi
If you press OK, the channel list will appear, then select N/A and press Menu, then press OK on the Remove entry.

Hi,

Many thanks for the replies ... I was trying to delete a 'ton' of bouquets that appeared after installing one of those 'Hans' settings.

I wanted to keeps some of them but delete 80%

Doing this via the gui seemed time consuming.

I had a feeling there might be another index file but gave it a go.

So it seems I will now have to go through the bouquets.tv and manually delete each reverence ? <_<

Doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you get the index back in sync with the bouquet files left on your system.

You might be able to use a tool like DreamboxEdit, perhaps it will automatically correct the problem...

I already think that we should have a entry in the contextual menu (when we are in the list of favorites / userbouquets) that allows to automatically delete all the N/A entries.

This is just pointless to display those N/A entries and have to delete them one by one manually.

And we should also have it when we are into a favorites for the TV channels. French broadcaster often reorganised there channels and this result in many N/A in the favorite.

There are only two ways to get N/A entries: after a scan, when the service ref has been removed from the transponder, or when you have been fiddling with the files manually, either via the commandline, or via some external tool.

For the first case, I find them handy as it makes it easy after a scan to see which channels have been (re)moved and need to be added again from the "all" list.

If you just remove them and not replace them, why did you have them in a bouquet in the first place, you're obviously not interested in the channel if you don't re-add it?

As for the second case, you brought the misery onto yourself, I don't see why we need to put effort in to provide tools to clean up the mess created. Get some tool like DreamboxEdit, import the bouquets (that auto deletes all N/A entries), and write them back. Problem solved.

I agree I also used the N/A slot to find the channels that have changed there TP or simply disappeared. But anyway a simple entry to clean them all would be very handy.
Sometimes the agreement between a sub-provider and the main provider simply stop so we have many N/A that we cannot replace so this clean-up would be very usefull.

For the favorites with N/A it is harder to find them out manually we need to watch the bouquet.tv files and retrieve the no longer existing bouquet. For this too would be handy to simply press menu and select clean all N/A.

Just an improvement that you can choose to use or not, but at least it would be available once implemented.

If you scan with the clean option, they should all disappear?

Yes they are removed from service list (i.e contents of lamedb). However, the transponder must be probed for this to happen. If a channel was a transponder that is no longer in xml file, it still wont be removed becuase E2 does not scan it.

They are not removed from bouquets.
