That is a known issue, and explicitly mentioned in the release notes for 9.0.
And the answer is no. In the old "OE", both DHCP assigned DNS adresses and fixed DNS adresses were written to /etc/resolv.conf instead of /etc/network/interfaces where fixed info belongs, which in turn went into the backup.
Upon restore, we can't determine if the address read back from the backup was assigned by DHCP of was entered as a fixed address.
So if you use a fixed DNS entry, you need to re-enter it after the backup has been restored, only once.
