Good evening everyone;

 

 

I have some machines like vu 4k and They have capable of dts feature.

but 

I have been seeing "AAC downmix" feature instead of "DTS downmix" with lately images.

 

So,Of course There is no sound with dts embedded films.

 

What is the problem or any license matter?

The problem is not mediaplayer or related things

 

Vu DUO 4K  has DTS licence and It could be downmix dts sound 

 

Unfortunately;

I installed PLI and VIX image on duo4k 

I can not see DTS line AV section.

I see "AAC Downmix"  instead of DTS line

 

Besides  I can see DTS Downmix line on H7 receiver and I can hear DTS sound with h7 unlike duo4k.

In fact; There was  "DTS Downmix" line On old VTI image.

 

By the way; OpenPLI is perfect with original bluray .m2ts format

Vu+ 4K and in particular Duo4K[SE] drivers doesnt support DTS sound correctly. There is no control from the drivers itself. So no DTS controls in enigma UI too.

So you cant really passthrough DTS sound. If you set AAC/AC3 downmix to "downmix" DTS sound will be downmixed too to LPCM. 

But if you set AAC/AC3 downmix to "passthrough" there will be no sound on DTS tracks.

There are workarounds but is not worth. Vu+ drivers are not designed to support DTS so if you want that have to use another brand box that drivers support it...

Indeed; Yet another problem(you are right) is DTS passthrough to send signal via HDMI out(arc channel)  not possible directly.

 

I tried another choice "Multichannel to downmix"  is okey with dts track.

 

Sat receivers have capable dts tracks but not DTS-HD MA (higher bitrate)

 

There are workarounds but is not worth.

 

 

 

Now you got me curious 

My old receiver kathrein ufs-913 was capable with neutrino image (I think 913_audio_dts.elf file)

 

By the way;  VuDuo4K(SE)  is better media player according to VuDuo4K

I have many times tried DTS-HD ES 6.1 to be passthrough to the AVR but no success....No sound came out. Sometimes if you switch downmix on then of then on again it works but thats stupid...

Not on Vu+ 4K boxes. They dont have needed procs from the drivers.....

I understood by downmix did work (partly)… looks like vti worked around that.

Can't test that, no digital amp, and if I set it to passthrough, my TV reports "no support" via HDMI, and the box switches back to downmix.

Pass through works here as a charm on an Ultimo4K....
