I have just installed the current develop image in a multiboot slot on my OSmio4k+.
On the About screen it shows 25 Enigma (re)starts. How can this be, right after flashing the image?
Enigma (re)starts count incorrect

The value of
config.misc.startCounter=
is part of the settingsfile (/etc/enigma2/settings) which will be restored.

So this is expected behavior.... When you restore settings the counter continues... even after a fresh flash...
But should be zero after a flash start/recovery.

I have never monitored this, it just tells me that I am probably crazy, considering how many times I've restarted each box due to development. But in my opinion, it should continue.
It's more or less just a statistical figure.
To be honest, I haven't really paid attention to it yet and on second thought I do think that the counter should continue to run after a reflash or whatever, it then indeed indicates the total number of restarts and now that I look at it,...indeed it indicates that I have also restarted the box a bizarre number of times, I must be crazy too

I had expected it to start from 0 after installing the image.
And if I decide to restore a backup after some time, I would not want the current value to be overwritten.
But I guess, to preserve the correct number, the value would have to be stored in a different location. (which is not included in the backup)
Maybe in a hidden config file, something like /home/root/.settings
