With volume +/- buttons..... or for some circumstances when the volume control is re-located to the TV or surround sound player as work-a-round the bouquet +/- buttons at the audio selection screen (yellow).

Please describe your setup so we can better help you.

One point is that if your TV is doing overscan you won't see the audio bar displayed since it appears à the very top right of the screen.

So ensure that overscan is disabled in your TV settings.

Second point you really don't heard any sound difference with Volume + / Volume - key?  Check the HDMI-CEC setup and disable forward volume key.

Third point VU+ provides an universal RCU if you setup the TV Code in the RCU the Volume+/Volume- key are no longer sent for the VU+ but they are sent for the TV, so if you inserted wrong TV code, you can no longer adjust the volume with the RCU.
