I am curious of how the small right-aligned progress bars in the channel list are done. Is it:

a) patch in enigma2
b) modifications in the skin.xml for all skins
c) modification of a skin_user.xml
d) set in a common configuration file

Is this feature available/submitted to CVS?

this required some changes in the c++ parts.
I'm not sure whether we already submitted a patch for this, and if so, whether it was accepted, or if not, why it was rejected.
But we're working on a way to make our changes available to the public, so we don't have to depend on whether or not our changes are accepted to go into the official e2 repository.

It's been a long while; has anybody confirmed this feature working in 1.0 or the latest beta? I tried in beta version but it doesnt show. I've tried another image that has the same option and the progress bar shows up in service list after enigma reboot.

Menu > Setup > System > Customize > Show event progress in channel selection [Yes/No] ..........it seems broken.

Are you referring to the bars as in this screenshot?
In PLi's-Enigma 2 the right side of that picture (containing the channel number and name/event name/progressbar) is available for skins in the screen "ChannelSelection"with the command "list" (as defined in ChannelSelection.py).

I think as Littlesat mentioned that "The Big Merge" broke that, so you will have to wait untill it is unbroken again.

Detail: on the VU+ DUO it still works fine (as you can see in my recent screenshot), but I can't turn it off (no problem there: I don't want to turn it off).

You might try the same skin as I used for the screenshot (Magic-(E)HD to see if it works on your box as well.

afaik, this setting is to show/hide standard E2 progress bar (white, left), pli progress bar (yellow, right) is always shown(at least for me)...
see the screenshot:

ok, so after the recent dmm experimental merge we have two progressbars.
Then I guess we need to decide what to do, and get rid of one of them (either ours, or theirs)

I hope it will be "ours": the yellow one on the right side is far much better.....

It's even worse: after switching it on and off several times to no avail, my box "hangs".
I still can log in, but there is no respond to init4/init3/reboot/RC or whatever. So I had to pull the plug.

Ja, en bij nader inzien is er ook qua lay-out wel wat voor te zeggen: bij de "onze" loopt een lange tekst soms door de bars heen.

I can switch off dmm bars with no problem, you have to restart enigma to apply changed setting...

Sorry for my Dutch......
Translation: I think the DMM-lay-out is even better, as "our" bars are sometimes overlapped by a long event description.

1- as mentioned: it causes my box to become unresponsive;
2- if an Enigma restart is required that should be mentioned in the menu.

completely disagree, placing progress bar right side (PLi) is much more logical (in my opinion) than insert it between channel number and chanel name...
besides with dmm layout you'll have long event descriptions cut-off I suppose...

1- as mentioned: it causes my box to become unresponsive;

haven't noticed it at all here...

2- if an Enigma restart is required that should be mentioned in the menu.

maybe it should ;)...
