I think it's Fritzbox related, but I'm not sure of course. I never had any problems with DHCP here.
Would a static IP address instead help you?

Try to switch the ports or use another port. Just to see if the problem is in the DM500 or router.

maybe your boxes have the same MAC address.

I dont know about same mac addresses on a 7020 and a 500 ...
