With the latest image it is not possible to use a HD & Compact flash together in my 600.
The compact flash fails to mount and format.
I have been able to get it working with another image.

on a 600? I doubt it, it doesn't have a CF reader.
Unless you use some kind of IDE convertor, in that case you have to make a master/slave setup with your HDD, and probably change some fstab entries to make it work.
