Hi,
I have installed the openembedded environ ment and tried to do a build.
However it fails on the enigma2 package.

Anyone else experienced this?

git version 1.4.4.4

This is the one the Makefile downloaded.

The makefile doesn't download git, git is part of your build system.
1.4 is very old, could you try to update to a recent 1.6 version?

might be, but it's still very old.
In that case you'll have to build a newer version from sourcecode.

must be a git issue. I'm actually surprised you got that far into the build, with such an old git version.
I couldn't even checkout the openembedded stuff, untill I upgraded mine ;)

It is not that hard to compile git on your own. Take a look at the instruction here: http://maff.ailoo.ne...on-debian-etch/
Just change the version number into the latest stable versionnumber available. I build 1.6.5.2 that way and it works fine.

Thanks to both.
Compiled 1.6.5.3 and now working.
