I believe Milo sorted something out for PLi image users through the ipkg package management, but since this wonderfull plugin works on many more images than PLi, would it make sense to include either a build in auto update, or on request update of source and channel definition files ?
Just an idea,

Well, Mike already has split up the plugin and my channels and sources files into two packages. And his intends are also not to have to update the whole package when I make some updates.
But it's only in the Pli feeds for now.
We have to talk about this if it would be possible to make an update button to get the latest files, but also not every hour otherwise my site will be overload again. Once or twice a day should work.

Hello,
Well, I think we can make sure your website doesn't get hammered. A question probably for Milo : what does happen when the source file changes dramaticaly ? If source get renamed for example ? Do you store a download URL and what does happen when the source changes ?

Thanks Milo,
I have done of some thinking (yes, it hurts ): source and channel size is very small : 24k, so compared to the size of a single provider daily epg file, that's less than 5%. Would it make sense to download them automaticaly during the daily (or manual) import ? I think it would be very easy to setup, would not put stress on the rytec website, work on all images, and reduce your admin work creating the ipkg.
Also, it could be nice to inform users accessing the panel that updates of sources have been downloaded since they last opended the UI.
