Hi,

is there a plan to get "long Descriptions (<title lang="de">)" in the [Germany-Austria-Switserland] data? At the moment only "HDsuisse.ch" has it.

Thx a lot.

Greetings,
mgl

If possible I add long descriptions. However for the german channels I hit a snag that they are not available on the website I use for the generation of the data.

If you can point me to websites which have the data (long descriptions) on the webpage which has the program schedule, and I can grab that website, I will gladly include them.

OK.

I did not have much time today, so I tested only one (ARD - Das Erste)

The epg wil tomorrow contain the long descriptions for this channel.

The others will follow.

Big THX

Will try to find all others too.

Btw "Das Erste" and "Das Erste HD" should have the same content, also ZDF and ZDF HD.

The others from the ARD pages have been included now.

I will change over the ZDF and related channels, as the ZDF pages do not give more information as I have now.
If you can give me a webpage which gives indeed more information, I will consider it.

They should be taken over. But since I had to write a new grab setting for this it is possible that it is not perfect yet.

This indicates that I have to perfect it.

Maybe this would be interesting too: http://www.epgdata.com. This Data are from TV Digital/Axel Springer Verlag. Developer get a testkey from [mail]info@epgdata.com[/mail]. For users its about 11-17€.

"epgData.com offers EPG-data files for all kinds of applications. TV-Program data packages are tailored to customer requirements and can be downloaded through an internet connection. The data can be displayed, sorted and filtered by all kinds of software applications. We provide listings data for more than 200 channels from all over Europe. Our data contains pictures, recommendations, reviews and detailed information about the shows that are on TV. "

Its used for ex. by VDR...

A other thing to try would be: http://www.klack.de/...GuideShort.html

This also nearly all channels for ex. http://www.klack.de/...&DATE=20100814.

Hi Willy,

I have suggested to use the Data from epgdata.com on the German VU+-Support Forum. mglueck was so kind to translate it here.

Personally I use a Reelbox at home (www.reel-multimedia.de) and for Reelbox a User "RealQuick" of the Reelbox-Forum (http://www.reelbox-forum.com) has done a Plugin named iEPG which uses the Data of epgData.

epgData belongs to TV Digital / Axel Springer Verlag; one Year of EPG will cost around 11-17 EUR for the Users. Developers mostly can get a Test-PIN by mailing to [mail]info@epgdata.com[/mail].

EpgData delivers a good EPG-Quality mostly long descriptions with actors, category, language, and Episode-Numbers for TV-Series. If booked the downloadable .zip-File will also contain Pictures of selected TV-Events of the Day.

Here is a Example on how it looks on the Reelbox-EPG:

I would appreciate it very much if the Rytec-Plugin will get a interface to interpret the epgData. Maybe I can help you out in buying a epgData-PIN for one Year (not just to get it only for 30-Days of testing).

Also maybe RealQuick (http://reelbox-forum...ember.php?u=476) can help you with the format which is delivered by epgData.

Greetings,
MacGyver

I looked at Klack.de site, and this is a find. I will try to include it, but it looks possible.
But first I have to make the ARD site work.

As to the Springer verlag epg.
My reaction is short - i do not pay for epg. It is a hobby which does not cost me only my time and a bit of electricity for my PC.
Further the pictures are not supported on the epg importer plug-in. And the rest I can gather elsewhere.

Willy

PS: Rytec supports approx. 2000 channels

Hi Willy,

sad to hear that. It was not ment that epgData should replace any of the other free sources.
It was ment as additional source for people which are willing to pay for a good EPG - like me...

I know the discussion about EPG should be free of charge from many german boards but for example after the iEPG-Plugin for Reelbox was released the number of users willing to pay for EPG has raised - quite amazing, isn`t it.

Even if the Pictures can not be used I`m still convinced that epgData is worth the Money especially for the additional information like episode-numbers, actors and so on (good for Searchtimers and their filtering to avoid double-recordings of the same episode)...

And as I said I`m completly willing to take the costs for a normal User-PIN for one Year for you or some other developer if this should be the Problem.

In fact I`m asking myself paying up an Award to somebody who will bring epgData as EPG-Source up to the Vu+ Duo!?! If somebody is interestet on that please contact me!

But never mind: I complety understand your reasons why EPGs should be for general free of charge as they only advertise the programm of the Station!

Personally on the other side I see: To get Programm-Information I can buy a TV-Magazine for about 1,60 EUR/14 Days = 41 EUR/Year and then I additionally take care of some more waste (old magazines); I can use the Senders free epg which is coming from the cable or satellite with the mentioned exceptions like missing episode-numbers and often only for few days with small informations, or I can use epgData for about 17 EUR/Year without any problems...

Hope that you are able to see my point of view.

Greetings,
MacGyver

MacGyver,

I can see your point. I may have reacted a bit strongly.
However - I try to compile an as completely as possible epg free of charge. I do not always succeed, but I am trying to always improve the xmltv files. But I need the imput from users like yourself to find websites and so.
