Hi,

using the Rytec plugin for a week now,
first got the stuff also working for my DVB-T - thanx again for adding the channels!

So the next thing I wanted to improve: the BBCi channels (on Sat of course - I can't get the DVB-T from the UK here in Belgium /images/smiley/wink.gif )

spending some time with google learned the BBCi channels have no proper EPG and there is no website were the info can be grabbed.....
there is only a schedule on the BBC website - it seems they update it twice a month.

Some restriction: the are not mentioning which of the BBCi channel is used for which program.

So quite some challenges.

I just finished my first attempt to get some info in the EPG - my test was successfull and I want to share:

-I entered the sport events for the BBCi channels in an xml-file
the file is on the internet (my webspace at the internet provider)

-added an entry in the rytec.resources.xml

BBCi

-added a reference in my own.channels.xml

<channels>

1:0:1:1ae6:07f6:0002:11a0000:0:0:0:

</channels>

-copied the new files on the box (FTP)
made first a copy of the original files

-selected the new entry in the sources and updated the EPG

==> the BBCi6 channel has the sports EPG /images/smiley/smile.gif
I selected this channel because this is the channel with the "multiscreen" (but you can change of course)

Because of the overlap I sometimes entered 2 or 3 events in one EPG-item (but the info is there)

Today I created the xml with some copy/paste (just to get this test), next I'll try to improve the creation of the xml (some scripting or macro's)

as the amount of info is quite small I think I'll be able to continu this in the future.
This is a small effort and I don't need to chech the website anymore.

so feel free to use and comments/remarks are welcome,

Bernd

Good job!

Will test it out.

I have added this channel to my file so you could change the channelfile lookup to the original one.

Hey Rytec could you add 1:0:82:1ae6:07f6:0002:11a0000:0:0:0: to the BBC Interactive also as the E2 boxes don't need the service changing to type 1 to appear in list and so my reference is different but the other would still be valid for E1 box

Maybe a "newbie" question:

I don't understand the previous question - what's this about?

(especially as I've a DM8000 - so E2)

I tried the reference I mentioned (trial and error), and it works on my box

so could someone explain ;)

Good Evening,

this weekend the new schedule was released by the BBC

15 minutes of work in my Excel-sheet and I finalized the new xm-file (I guess with some small optimization I can get this below 10 minutes ;) )

so the new file is availiable for usage

cheers,

Bernd

Thanks for all your efforts Bernd, it works just great for me :)

Pity the BBC don't publish which of the streams will be used so I can set timers, but a great reference.

Yes indeed, I tried already to find some logic in the streamselection

but is realy random

But I'll keep an eye on the BBC website - you never know they will improve the info

Cheers,

Bernd

Hey there

I guess I am the best one to explain. I am guessing that you use a settings file downloaded from your box when you use those the interactive channels are set as TV if you open it in dreambox edit you will see TV. If however you do a channel search rather than downloaded a pre existing settings list these channels appear as Data and the reference is different now I could change the type to TV and it will then match yours however sometimes when you do another search then it will set back to data which if the box already shows the channels there is no point.

The reason I thought perhaps it was e1 was because an e1 box will not show ANY data channels and you have to change the flag to TV for it to appear in the channel list.

Maybe a "newbie" question:

Whoops just realised that I made a mistake when typing it should be

1:0:82:1ae6:7f6:0002:11a0000:0:0:0:

Managed to put an extra 0 in :(

Thanks for adding and sorry for the mistake.

I am gonna start another thread with another batch of changes.

Thanks Bernd,

I used it and it is a pity that we cannot see on which channel the programme will be running (also on the BBC website).

Hi msatter & DDX,

yes, it's a pitty the BBC doesn't mention the correct chanel, lets hope they will add this info in the future

concerning the different sid
you could ask Rytec to add this SID to the channels

Cheers,

Bernd

mvg,

bernd
