Sherlock plugin
spock 19 Nov 2010
With all the changes to dvbapi/kernel and enigma2 the Sherlock plugin became a little bit buggy. For example it sometimes kills the audio when the infoscreen is opened, and also it fails to show bitrate statistics.
But there is an update: http://www.i-have-a-...?threadid=89851
Can it be added to the feeds?

You mean Vs 5.6-r3? I can't get it to work. But that is on VU+ DUO (which doesn't have the new API yet).

From tomorrow in the downloads. The 5.1 for the VU and the 5.6-r3 for the DMM boxes.

5.6-r3, yep!
I haven't tried a manual install yet as I just stumbled over this new version. I'll give it a go later when I find the time.
As long as we can get it to work I think it should be added to the official plugin feed since the old sherlock (5.0) is quite buggy now (atleast on my dm500hd). And if the new one doesn't work on vu+ duo, then keep both versions in the feed.

It seems that 5.6-r3 has some problems to run on openpli image since it's built against newer libs.
First it complains about missing libcrypto.so.0.9.8, so I symlinked the version in openpli (0.9.7) to the new file.
This worked but it then got stuck on missing libpython2.6.so.1.0.. another symlink to the 2.5 version of openpli left it in a state that said "TPM challenge failed" and the plugin could not start.
I tried a manual install of the .ipk now in the morning too and the result is the same.
