HEAD~ dumps the HEAD commit.
So if you did not commit your own stuff, you don't get it with git format-patch
(git diff will show uncommitted stuff though)

I'm sorry for stupid questions, read messages above but it still not clear for me how to execute quite simple task:
I would like to play with enigma2 sources and look results on my vuduo.
I have achieving default assembling of Makefile-2.1 under ubuntu 11.10
I have cloned git://openpli.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/openpli/enigma2
But how I can switch bulding to use local enigma2 git?
