hi

its trying to update Valerie,but say cant use duplicate
its still on hdd.
so how to update valerie?

The version of Valerie that's on the feeds, can't be upgraded separately. This is a build especially made by PLi using Valerie's sources, and PLi takes care to update the plugin whenever that's appropriate. Just an onlime system-update will dot the trick.

The upgrade function within Valerie is only applicable when it has been installed from the ipk-package found on Valerie's site. PLi still has to delete this function from their build.

Basically, just ask which SVN version you want, and ye shall receive...

I could make it automatically update, but that also includes the risk that the version it happens to include doesn't work.

but that would give the authors immediate and massive response, when they did something wrong. (at least, I hope the users will bug the authors, and not us)
And that will probably make them more and more careful, knowing there are always users which use the latest rev

By the way, what's with the packages "valerie-e2control" and "valerie-libshowiframe"?
Don't they have to be updated too?
I think 'libshowiframe' could have something to do with the missing backgrounds...

I woke up Valerie to check, and all works fine here (skin = Magic-EHD, that supports the plugin).
I have only the plugin itself installed.

Normaly you don't have to change anything: most plugins have inline-screens. In Magic-HD skins I added the Valerie screens to the skins, because I didn't like them (they made no full use of the screen). Sometimes an update of a plugin als updates the inline screen, so the screen in the skin does not match anymore: that could lead to problems as you mentioned (or worse: GS's).

But to be sure: use Magic-HD and see if you encounter the same problem.

If you want to look in the skin.xml look for "PVMC_Wizard", "PVMC_Series", "PVMC_Movies", "ProjectValerieSyncSettingsConfPathsAdd", "ProjectValerieSyncSettingsConfPaths", "ProjectValerieSyncSettingsConfSettings", "ProjectValerieSyncSettings", "ProjectValerieSyncManagerInfo", "ProjectValerieSyncManager", "ProjectValerieSync" and "PVMC_Settings".
Those are all the screens in use by Valerie: so if you want to add them to your skin you know what to do!

Since the update I run in trouble with greenscreens. Maybe you could take a look at the logs.
