I will later provide meta driver packages to ease installation, but it is not my high priority right now.
If some usb dvb-t stick should be supported but it is not working correctly, in order to support you I need dmesg output just after module loading, /proc/bus/usb/devices output, model name/number of usb dvb-t stick and platform used (dm800, vuduo etc)

Is it possible to make ipk files (e.g. as system plugin) that are downloading the fw package and in addition install the required v4-dvb-modules? Then we have a 'plug and play' solution for these USB sticks.
It is possible (that's what I mention above about meta packages) and there is already such a package (for dib0700 - though it needs updating with newer modules because there are some new dependencies). However, I currently prefer to fix some remaining issues on some well known sticks, then I'll provide these meta packages.

I prefer to add this inside our buildenviroment
on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

Did you manage to do much testing with the Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T.
Ive had one for nearly 2 months (in Ireland) and found it very unstable (even though it didnt cause blue screens).
On another forum Irish nova users have had the same problems with the Nova-t even though UK users didnt have any issues.
We are using DVB-T (Mpeg4 SD and HD transmissions) where as in UK they use mpeg2. its the only difference I have noticed.
These were the issues I found.
DTT Recordings stopping for no reason half way through.
DTT channels going black.
DTT channels with only sound.
All DTT Channels gone.
Bad pixelling on recordings but fine while watching the same program.
Changing to a DTT channel shows nothing only a freeze frame from the last channel.
All of the above require a reboot to sort.
Is there any way to log or track whats going on with the tuner to get to the cause of this.
A test we (irish users) that went to replicate the problem was to record 2-3 UK HD channels and watch DTT Channel (HD if possible) and the pixeling and black screens would start to happen within 30 imns.
BTW - Waiting for Sundtek to come into stock, seems to be the best performer of irish users anyway.

nova-t dib0700 works fine for both mpeg4 and mpeg2 SD channels here in Greece (no HD transmissions yet), in vuduo and et9000.
dm800 lacks cpu performance and sometimes problematic behavior can be observed, especially on HD channels.

Ive tried all images and issue seems to be across platforms.
I have tuner connected directly with supplied ext cable.
In general the opinion in ireland was that the tuner was fine until I posted a post on local forum with the issues I mentioned above.
And then replies flooded in as most users ended up with the some or all issues I posted.
With several recordings including or excluding the nova-t the DTT tuner suffered the above issues even jsut watching on DTT.
No similar posts on Vix UK or PLi so I assumed it was something to do with the irish tramsmission.
Could you do one test for me if possible, to see if DTT channels play ok while recording a few HD sat channels on Nova-t.
Dave
@dfddream: what platform are you using? (dm800, vuduo, etc). If dm800, original or clone? usb stick used in self-powered hub or directly on box?

I have already mentioned that, see http://www.pli-image...thread_id=17444
"Patches originate from Sifteam's openee opensource repository. The patch for smsdvb.c is mine."
I am no code stealer. I also send my patch to sifteam forum so that openee can use smsdvb too!

So I did not mean to claim anything about who wrote the code in the patches. Or who was the the one to rebase them to this hg rev of v4l-dvb. Or who was the first one to use them. etc.

open source projects should cooperate. It's good that you made those patches available on openee. After all, v4l-dvb is an open source project. A completely different approach from Blackhole and AngelofSky, who hasn't released his patches.
I think we should cooperate to create a usbtunerhelper module in kernel space, it might operate better.
