Willy thanks for all your help, it looks great except the schedule changed for tonight but nevermind. I'll be keeping it updated everday as much as I can.
Would it be possible to use a discription using this method of grabbing? I was thinking having the name of the programme in Japanese and using the discription as the english. Would that be possible?
I have put in an japanese test like you said, but i dont expect to see anything as my dreambox doesn't seem to display japanese fonts.

It is certainly possible to use a description.
Just place the description in the column behind the event.

If your box does not display japanese fonts, then there is no point in persuing Japanese text any further.
(However - when a box does not show a particular font - this mostly deu to missing charachters in the true type font used. It helps sometimes to use an other skin as several skin uses different fonts)

The EPG seems it didn't update. Is there something wrong?

The information in OSN is missing.
In the UK package it is updated.

I will correct this.

Still do not know why the OSN package did not contain the information. When checking everything downloaded normal.

Performed an extra download of the OSN package and uploaded the corrected file to the different websites.

The import failed again last night, but now I caught the reason. (I put a tracelog on this package)

I am sure that from now on the problem will not occur anymore.

In the OSN file:

<programme start="20110312010000 +0100" stop="20110312070000 +0100" channel="JSTV1.jp">
<title lang="en">NEWS (FTA)</title>
</programme>

first entry for JSTV1.
IMHO: this is a fresh import.

Yeah sorry Willy the problem was my box was keeping yesterdays download and not allowing the new download to overwite. But I deleted the old data and gave the box a reboot and now its fine.

I've figured out how to use japanese fonts within images now. So tomorrow im testing with the morning schedule of a mix english and Japanese on JSTV1 and pure Japanese on JSTV2. But then I would like to test putting in a discription, so a 3rd column. Would this effect you and your grabber and will it cause you any trouble? So column A would be the time, Column B would be English title and column C (discription) Japanese title.

That is fine.
The grabber is already set up to grab the third column. The info in this column would appear in the sub-title field.
So keep this info below 120 characters.

Longer descriptions should be placed in the fourth column. But then I have add this to the grabber.

Hi Willy, I'm having a bit of a problem. There are some major schedule changes due to the earthquake. My box is displaying an updated schedule but the programmes are inserted into the old schedule rather than just over written. I cant figure out if it's my box or your infomation. Would you be able to take a look at my web page for JSTV1 and compare it to the infomation in xmltv i download.

Thanks

What you describe is a know issue.
Major schedule changes can create this. This is because any new epg is added to the epg already in the box. Normal this is not a problem. Occasional you get a double entry for a program.

However in this case, this is a problem (the tsunami is a much bigger disaster).

How to solve.

Use telnet (DCC will do)
type in:

init 4 <ENTER>
rem /media/hdd/epg.dat <ENTER>
init 3 <ENTER>

This will clear all old epg data. And when you import again, it will have a fresh copy.

I just in the process of regrabbing everything this morning in preparation of the time change next night.
(all my trials to correct for this automatically failed, because I have to many variable websites in different timezones)
So I have to adapt some settings the day before. And in order to check if everything is OK I'll do a grab with the new files.

Will be after lunch before they are available.

BTW: I see you have it all Japanese now. Does it still comes over at your end, because my box does not show much anymore, except some unreadeable stuff - not even Japanese characters (or how do you call these things?)
