As for the TPM check, I probably should revert the changes I did to the "etpm.*" code files (and only fix that file handle leak), then it might work again, there's probably some silly bug in it. Trouble is that my only box with a TPM is the 8000 in the living room.

I am running the recent OpenPLI 2.1 on DM500HD and I am facing a strange behaviour. When I copy libgstdvbaudiosinkext.so into /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10 dtsdownmix works fine, but AC3 downmix and mpeg1 don't work at all. When I remove libgstdvbaudiosinkext.so all audio formats but dts work fine. Any suggestions? I tried with a fresh OpenPLI.

Plugins installed:

gst-plugin-dtsdec - 0.10.21-r11.0
libdca0 - 0.0.5-r2
enigma2-plugin-extensions-genuinedreambox - experimental-git20110805-r0

I believe that libgstdvbaudiosinkext.so requires 'modified' priorities in other gstreamer audio components.
In other words, it currently claims all audio data, even if it does not support it.

Thank you for your explanation. Is there any other way to enable dts downmix in OpenPLI 2.1?
Should I wait until it is fully supported or should I try to change these priorities myself? How could I do that?

it can only be done compile-time, so you need to make patches in the build environment.

I actually don't know how many source files should be patched and where to start. Any hints/suggestions would be highly appreciated

you might have a look in the opendreambox git, to see which patches they made

I've found out that installing gst-plugin-dvbmediasink_0.10+git20110210-r0_dm500hd.ipk from http://oozoon-dreamb...00hd/index.html solves the problem. However I cannot find the sources for the plugin.

did you install this in Pli2.1? and now DTS downmix works? how did you do this?

I'm asking the Pli team for monds now for DTS downmix, but no solution, now thanks to you it works perfect. subs on time and no problem with libsinc.

I have a DM8000, i downloaded the to files from multiupload, en placed them in /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10 (it overwrite one file)
and i downloaded http://oozoon-dreamb...0-r0_dm8000.ipk (the one for the DM8000, restart and GO

Just to clarify few things...

I prepared a zip file with two .so files, where libgstdvbaudiosinkext.so is for mipsel boxes and libgstdvbaudiosink.so is for dm500hd (however it seems to work on dm8000 too)

Shortly speaking... three plugins are required to enable dts on dm500hd (you can find plugins for other boxes on the same site):

However gst-plugin-dvbmediasink_0.10+git20110210-r0_dm500hd.ipk is in conflict wit an OpenPLI plugin. They both provide libgstdvbaudiosink.so. The plugin can be installed with --force-downgroad option, but it will get overwriten during the upgrade process. Therefore I decided to overwrite libgstdvbaudiosink.so manually and crossed my fingers OpenPLI will not update gst-plugin-dvbmediasink soon We need to find a more clever solution to that problem.

So in conclusion...
1. you need to have genuinedreambox plugin installed
2. you need to install two other plugins or you can download a zip file and use libs included - if dts decode doesn't work for you try to download gst-plugin-dvbmediasink appropriate for your box version
3. remember to replace libgstdvbaudiosink.so again if it gets upgraded


Somebody with more knowledge could suggest how to solve the problem of conflicting libgstdvbaudiosink.so

Again: the DUO doesn't need any help/patches for AC3 & DTS downmix: it works out-of-the-box as the drivers support downmix directly.
