What was the error-message, if any ?

Normal method by DCC_E2 is via
Tools->IPKG Packages->Upload package ->Choose package and click on open.

The package will be installed, click on the tab Telnet and look if you see some error-messages

Is this a softcam which isn't on the feed?

You could try to FTP the .ipk to the DB's /tmp then from telnet run:

opkg install /tmp/name_of.ipk

Any FTP client (besides DCC of course, but that's another rant) will display and allow you to transfer files to the DB's /tmp directory, even Windoze Explorer or a DOS command line...

Ps. /tmp is just a sane place to install packages from, but you can do it from anywhere, /var, /lib, etc. You'd just adjust the install command for the exact location like:

opkg install /var/name_of.ipk
opkg install /lib/name_of.ipk
etc...

And remove the ipk after installing so you don't needlessly eat up flash space...

I don't know, did you actually place a space in the command between / & var like you wrote above? That would be wrong.

Oh, and if you used DCC to send the file to the DB, it's not uncommon for DCC to say it transfered a file even though it did no such thing (one part of that DCC rant I mentioned above).

@noorsat

open "DCC" -> telnet and "copy & paste" this code:

ln -s `which opkg` /usr/bin/ipkg
ln -sf "opkg-cl" "/usr/bin/ipkg-cl"

and now you can see:

DCC -> Tools -> IPKG Packages

your packages /images/smiley/wink.gif
and now you can add own ipk packages/files
