im running open pli 1 and ive set the epg import data to automatically d/load at 5.45am which it has done for a while now , but all of a sudden im only getting now and next epg , ive tried to d/load manually by pressing the yellow button but no events will d/load . please help

Upgrade to OpenPLi 2.1 and try again, you'll get a much much newer version.

On Open Pli 1.0 the old version of the plug-in is installed. This still works, but it is limited to one website. And since we have had difficulties with our webspace, we have now 5 different webpages where you can download from. The new version of the plug-in check the webpages and downloads from one that is available.

Now this version of the plug-in does not install on Open Pli 1 (you can make it to install with some trickery)

Solutions:

Upgrade to OpenPli 2.1
Or download and try one of these: (place the file in etc/epgimport)

thanks for your help where can i get the open pli 2.1 ? i can only see version 1.0 in the downloads section for the dm 500hd and is the 2.1 as easy to use as the 1.0 ive got used to , whats the difference between them . thanks

Diff between 1 and 2.1 - too much to describe.

But you will still recognize everything.

which one do i use as they are updated nightly ? should i use any from august or the one from january ? also once its installed can i just leave it on or do you have to update it nightly ? thanks again for your help

Simply use AutoBackup to keep your settings over the upgrade.

ok thanks , last question . is this 2.1 a good stable image ( doesnt keep locking up ) because ive tried some images and my dm500hd locks up when using them , so i changed to the pli 1.0 and all has been great for ages , its just that the EPG wont import anymore , does the 2.1 use somewhere different to import the EPG ? sorry thats 2 questions . thanks for your help . will try to load image tonight

Well,

I am using a VU+ Duo and there the 2.1 version works just fine (for 1 1/2 days now). I cannot comment on a DM500HD.
As I explained before the epg import version in the 2.1 can use or 5 websites simultaneous. If one website is off-line then it uses another website. The rest is the same.

Now if you want to stick to OpenPli 1.0 you can. But you have then to use one of the rytec.sources files which you can find here.

Download the file and place the file in /etc/epgimport.
Restart your box and perform an import.

Use the rigth mouse button and use store link as... (or something like it - I am using a dutch windows).

thanks ive loaded the 2.1 version and imported epg manually and it imported with no problem . if i want to upgrade maybe monthly , how do i do the autobackup and does this save my channel lists and sats and settings and cccam etc or do i have to load everything again . thanks for your help

The autobackup is plug-in, which you have to install. You can configure it to automatically save the configuration on a HHD or USB stick, or do a manually save.

It saves all your settings, including channel list, CCcam, own ppanels and other stuff. If you tick the autoinstall box in the configuration it save a list of installed plug-ins. And next time you flash your box, it will take the autoinstall and reinstalls the plug-ins you had before. Also all the user settings are restored from the backup - automatically.

that sounds great , thanks for all your help . the image seems to be fine ( no locking up ) i will d/load the auto backup plug in and try it . will it save everthing to flash memory of dm500hd as i dont have a HDD attached yet ,? dont think there are any major changes to be had by updating image every night ? if theres anything important am i correct in assuming the version will change from 2.1 to may be 2.2 ? thanks
