Please let us know your experiences about the major update from today regarding HDMI-CEC.
New beta images are online and the (update) feed is available.

What should it do:
With these set of config settings you can control your TV <--> AV receiver <--> ET9k, for both ways or directly between your TV and receiver, TV <--> ET9k.

What should happen is:
- TV goes on of you turn on your TV
- TV switches to the correct input channel
- With your TV remote you can controll the STB

- TV goes off when you turn off your STB

- STB goes on when you turn on the TV, and the correct HDMI input will be selected
- With your TV remote you can controll your STB

- STB goes off when you turn off your TV

Let us know how it works at your place.
for example the OSD name, should be 'hostname'.

How to log your box?

open a telnet session towards your STB.
login at your STB
type "init 4" (without quotes)
start enigma manual, so type "enigma2" (without quotes)
in your telnetscherm you will see sroll all command's

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

TV : Panasonic 50" Plasma
Amp : Denon AVR 1910
ET9k

- TV goes on of you turn on your TV : if you meant when you turn STB ON, then no it is not working (i suspect it is because you broadcats a Pana cec manufacturer code, as it was working before when I was sending 0x04)
- TV switches to the correct input channel : no
- With your TV remote you can controll the STB : no

- TV goes off when you turn off your STB : yes

- STB goes on when you turn on the TV, and the correct HDMI input will be selected : yes
- With your TV remote you can controll your STB : no

- STB goes off when you turn off your TV : untested

TV: Panasonic LCD TX32D85LZF
STB: ET9K
AV: Yamaha TX-V467 On HDMI1

Connection Is ET9K <= HDMI => Yamaha <= HDMI => Panasonic TV

TV goes on of you turn on your TV
=> YES
TV switches to the correct input channel
=> YES (Result is probably useless, because the TV switcches always to HDMI1 caused by the "Panasonic Hotel Mode")
With your TV remote you can controll the STB
=>YES
TV goes off when you turn off your STB
=>YES
STB goes on when you turn on the TV, and the correct HDMI input will be selected
=> YES (Result is prbably useless, because the TV switcches always to HDMI1 caused by the "Panasonic Hotel Mode")
With your TV remote you can controll your STB
=> YES
STB goes off when you turn off your TV
=> YES

Everything works fine!. Displayed Hostname ist "CEC/HDMI1"

But Deep-Standby seems to be completly unsupported.

- TV stays OFF when starting from Deep-Standby
- TV Remains ON when shutting down the box directly to Deep Standby

Phantastic Job done! :-)))

Kind Regards

Klaus

I have tested with the latest update from today.

- Everything works fine as along as I'm just using the ET9K RC.
- TV RC works only partially with some errors.

Please find attached the E2 logfile.

Kind regards

By default, you need to select the correct input on the tv, after which the et will wakeup.
you need to tweak the wakeup signal setting if you want different behaviour.

May I ask the developers a question over here?

As mentioned above, HDMI-CEC does not work out of deep-standby. This is not surprising, since there is nothing running in deep standby.
Now my question: Is it possible to send the wakeup-signal via HDMI-CEC to the TV without using the remote. In this Case, it should be fairly easy to switch on the TV e.g. within the Elektro-Plugin, when a manual startup is detected. This would be a perfect solution for me to use this functionality out of deep-standby.

Thanks & kind regards

Klaus

no need for the elektro plugin, we can add settings about deep sleep handling.
I just think it's not a good idea to wakeup the tv by default when coming out of deep sleep (note you cannot see any difference between manual startup or reboot because of power outage)

Maybe other way around...? When TV is turned on the box is turned on too (also when in a deep standby). When TV is turned off the box goes to a deep standby.

This is why I suggested the Elektro-Plugin (as an example). This plugin already tries to distinct between a manual an a timer wakeup and does a good job, if the box is able to catch the right system-time via NTP.

Kind regards

But that's easy as that difference can be made by reading /proc/stb/fp/was_timer_wakeup.

After the box has come out of deep-standby it takes 2 key presses on the power button to wakeup the television. Not a perfect solution, but it will do in practice, I hope.
