Is it possible to separate the Freesat EPG from the Sky EPG and put it in it's own selectable source?
I use the Sky EPG from import but the build in Freesat EPG in OpenPLi provided by Freesat trough satellite.
At the moment the Sky UK EPG also contains the EPG for Freesat and this interferes with the Freesat EPG supplied by Freesat over satellite.
If you separate it and move it to it's own Freesat source that problem would be solved.
Hope your willing to do this.

Most people wants the complete set. But if only want a subset you can make it yourself.

In the map .etc/epgimport create the following files:

OwnUK.sources.xml
with:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="latin-1"?>
<sources>

<source type="gen_xmltv" channels="UK.channels.xml">
<description>Own UK XMLTV</description>
<url>http://www.xmltvepg....mltvuk.gz</url>
<url>http://enigma2.world...mltvuk.gz</url>
<url>http://www.xmltvepg....mltvuk.gz</url>
<url>http://www.tm800hd.c...mltvuk.gz</url>
<url>http://www.vuplus-co...mltvuk.gz</url>
</source>

</sources>

and
UK.channels.xml

with the refrences for all the channels you want. Copy the channels from the rytec.channels.xml file which you can download from:

http://www.xmltvepg....channels.xml.gz
http://enigma2.world...channels.xml.gz
http://www.xmltvepg....channels.xml.gz
http://www.vuplus-co...channels.xml.gz

Alternativelu you can simple take the rytec.channels.xml file rename it to UK.channels.xml and delete the not wanted channels (freesat). And save the file to /etc/epgimport

On your box now do not to forget the slect the Own Uk source, and deselect the rytec source.

Hi doglover, thx for your reply.

With the way i suggest most people still can have the complete set they just have to select one more source. This way the people that don't want to have the complete set also can choose for that, now they can't. Also if your honest the way it is now makes no sense because Freesat isn't Sky so it shouldn't be in the same source/package. Isn't the goal of your grabber that it is user friendly for all your users? If the work to separate it is the problem I’m willing to help.

We have discussed this and decided not to split it up.

I have also asked some other UK people from another board and they agree that these are two seperated providers but most of the EPG users use the complete UK epg source.
It is also a risk that if we seperate them that most people will select the both sources and then this will also cause more data traffic.

But if you want you can also use the suggestion of Willy at top of this topic, just create your own channelfile and remove the channels which you do not want to be filled.
